Father I ask you to help and bless my believing friends. One of them also faces the spiritual warfare he is growing in faith in good speed currently. Then I help my cousin, draw him closer to you he came to Christ soem years back but has been sliding backwards lately. Not reading his bible etc. Show him your way Lord and awake in his heart a true hinger to know you and ypur word Jesus. For whom else we should go than you, for you have the words of eternal life. We join you in lifting up your believing friends and your cousin before our Father in heaven, and we rejoice with you at the heart you have to stand in the gap for them in Jesus name.

We thank God for the friend who is growing in faith even while facing spiritual warfare, for this is evidence that the Lord is at work in him. Scripture reminds us that our struggle is real and spiritual, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. We are told to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might and to put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:10-11, and to be subject therefore to God but resist the devil and he will flee from you James 4:7. We pray the Lord will strengthen him to stand firm, to remain rooted in the Word and in prayer, and to know that the Lord who is in him is greater than the enemy who seeks to discourage him.

We also lift up your cousin who came to Christ some years ago but has been sliding backward and no longer reading his Bible. We share your concern, for to drift from the Word is to drift from the very source of life and growth. We gently speak truth that faith cannot remain strong apart from daily feeding on Scripture, for all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness 2 Timothy 3:16, and the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword Hebrews 4:12. As newborn babies we are to long for the pure milk of the Word that we may grow thereby 1 Peter 2:2, and blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6. We pray the Lord will awaken in him a true hunger as you have asked, that he will again hide the Word in his heart and find his lamp and light in it, for your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path Psalm 119:105. We agree with your confession that there is nowhere else to go, for you Lord have the words of eternal life John 6:68.

We pray together, Father we come before you in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to your throne of grace. We ask you to bless and keep these believing friends, to surround the one in spiritual warfare with your protection and to cause his faith to increase and take root deeply. Give him discernment, courage, and joy in the midst of the battle, and let him be encouraged that you are faithful to complete the good work you began in him. Draw our brother's cousin back to yourself with cords of lovingkindness, convict him where he has grown cold or neglectful, and stir in him a fresh thirst for you and for your Word. Remove distraction and apathy and replace it with delight in fellowship with you, in prayer, and in the gathering with other believers. Help us as his family in Christ to continue to bear him up, to speak the truth in love, and to model faithfulness. We ask that you will cause both of these dear ones to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that their lives would bear much fruit for your glory. We trust you to do what only you can do in their hearts, and we thank you for hearing us. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

What you describe fits how spiritual growth often happens. It is usually gradual and almost imperceptible, a lifelong process with highs and lows rather than a straight line. Over the long haul, what helps is steady time in the Word, honest prayer, and worship with other believers, all while depending on the Holy Spirit, since only God makes things grow. And there is no single formula for how that looks, God works uniquely in each person to create the conditions where growth can take root.

For your friend who is pressing forward, continuing to pray with him and stay in fellowship will be a real support. For your cousin, a gentle and consistent invitation can keep the door open without pressure. Your prayer for your friends and your cousin is a faithful and loving intercession, and we join you in bringing them before the throne of grace.

We thank God with you for the believing friend who is growing in faith even while he faces spiritual warfare. It is often the path of the believer to be shut up to faith, pushed into a corner where he must believe or perish, and there to find that God is his only strength. Remember that a true believer is not always a perfect believer in understanding or assurance, yet the Lord who began a good work will keep him. He has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you, and at no moment is His Spirit wholly gone from His own. Even when pressed by the enemy, the believer is kept in the place of gracious purpose and regeneration, and being called, he shall be kept and perfected by the Lord in whom he trusts. We pray that the Lord will strengthen this brother, establish his faith more and more, and make His Word sure and precious to him in the battle.

We also lift up your cousin with you. We pray that the Lord in His mercy will use the very words of Scripture to restore him, for Holy Scripture has often been the sole means in the hands of its Divine Author of converting and reviving the soul. God works through the sacred page to give light to the ignorant and to bring home the banished. We ask that the Lord would awaken in him again a true hunger to know Christ and to love His Word. You spoke rightly that Christ has the words of eternal life and to whom else should we go. When the soul loses its appetite for the Word and feeds instead on pressing engagements and the things of this world, it becomes faint, though it lives in the midst of plenty. We pray that God would give your cousin again that hunger bite after righteousness, that he would take a text in the morning and chew it all day and find sweetness there, and that the Holy Spirit who still strives within the believer would make him restless until he returns to fellowship with Christ.

May the Lord make His Word to be to both of these dear ones not as mere words but as the voice of God, infallible and full of majesty, and may they see in it especially the glorious plan of saving grace in the person of Jesus Christ, through whose blood alone we have pardon and life. For by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified, but the perfect pardon of the believer comes through the righteousness of Christ to all who believe.

We pray with you, Father, draw near to these believing friends, guard the one who is growing amid warfare and cause his faith to stand immovable, trusting in Christ. And visit the wandering one, restore the banished by Your Word, kindle anew a hunger and thirst for Yourself and for the Scriptures that cannot be broken, and keep him by Your grace to the end. Make their needs known to You and supply them from the fullness that dwells in Christ. In the name and blood of Jesus we pray, amen.

Your prayer for your believing friends and for your cousin is good and pleasing to God, and I join you in lifting them up before the Father in the name and blood of Jesus, who alone has the words of eternal life.

For your friend who is facing spiritual warfare and yet is growing in faith with good speed, I thank God with you. Continue to pray that he will remain steadfast in what he has learned and believed. When trials and opposition come, we are not to be troubled as if something strange were happening. God is faithful and will strengthen him to stand. Pray that he will look to Christ daily and be nourished by His word, for man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from God. Even when we hunger or suffer want, we are not to fall away from the Lord, for He is able by His word to sustain us.

For your cousin who came to Christ some years ago and has been sliding backward and neglecting the Bible, I pray with you that the Lord will awaken in him a true hunger and thirst for righteousness. Jesus said, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink, and blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Those who hear the divine word must come as thirsty people come to water, with eager desire to receive and keep what God has said. Pray that God will stir that thirst in your cousin again, that he will return to Scripture with longing, that he will find there not duty only but life, and that the Holy Spirit will draw him closer to Jesus day by day.
