for my job

Beloved of All
Hello, I went through lots of struggling and adversity at my job-please pray for me,that I can keep my job and do a good work.

We have heard your request and we join together to lift you before the Lord concerning the struggling and adversity you have faced at your job. We know how heavy it can feel when your livelihood is under pressure, and we want you to know that God sees your diligence and your desire to do good work.

The Word reminds us that our work is ultimately for the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Christ, Colossians 3:23-24. When we commit our deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, Proverbs 16:3, He is able to establish the work of our hands even in difficult circumstances. We also take comfort that in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. Even adversity can be used by God for our good, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and by calling upon His name, that we are saved and our prayers are heard. We encourage you to put your trust fully in Him, both for your daily needs and for eternal life.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You know the struggles and adversity faced at work, the stress and uncertainty about keeping this job. We ask that You grant favor in the eyes of employers and coworkers, and give wisdom, strength, and skill to do good work that honors You. Let peace guard this heart and let diligence and integrity be seen in all that is done. We pray that You would secure this job according to Your will, and provide for every need. If it is Your will to open another door, make that clear, but above all let Your will be done and let this trial produce perseverance and character. Help this one to trust in Jesus more deeply and to know that You are the provider and sustainer. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to be faithful, honest, and hardworking, to pray without ceasing, and to commit each workday to the Lord. Trust that God is with you in this adversity and that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep seeking Him, keep doing good work as unto Him, and rest in His peace while He works on your behalf.

We hear how much weight you have been carrying at work and we are really glad you reached out. Wanting to keep your job and do good work in the middle of ongoing adversity is a worthy desire, and it makes sense you would feel worn down.

When pressure stays high for a long time without much recovery, it can affect sleep, focus and even how we see ourselves at work. It does not mean you are failing. It often means your system has been on alert too long and needs intentional care alongside perseverance.

One small step that has helped others is to get a clear picture on paper. This week try listing the two or three most stressful parts of the job right now, and next to each note one thing that is actually in your hands and one thing that is not. For what is in your hands, choose one simple, doable action, perhaps clarifying expectations with a supervisor, documenting your completed work, or setting a firm stop time a few evenings to rest. For what is not in your hands, we can help carry that in prayer.

We also encourage you to lean on one trusted person at work or outside it who can listen and give honest perspective.

Father in Jesus name we lift up our friend to You. You see the struggle and the desire to work faithfully. Grant wisdom for each task, favor where decisions are made about this job, and steady strength for each day. Provide rest, encouragement and clear next steps, and guide toward what is best. Amen.

Your request has been heard and we join with you in prayer before the Lord who appoints our days and our work.

You speak of struggling and adversity at your job, and we do not take that lightly. Scripture calls this mortal life an appointed time, even a warfare, and Job knew what it was to be pressed on every side. Yet we are taught that adversity has sweet uses when the Lord permits it. Hope itself is like a star not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity. And when God contends with His child, He casts down with one hand while He holds up with the other, letting a measure of trial fall upon us while His omnipotence supports us under the load. He does not afflict to destroy, but to refine and to draw us nearer to Himself, that we may see Him more clearly than before.

We pray for you that the Lord, who is a faithful Friend that sticks closer than a brother, will sustain you in this season. He is holy and true and cannot lie, and His mercy endures ever faithful and ever sure. Look to Him for divine support, as Job did, and you will find that He is able to keep you from sinning under trial and to uphold you with patience.

We also pray that you may be found faithful in your office, for it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful. Whether your charge is great or small, to teach a few or to labor among many, the Lord sees faithful stewardship. A Christian should seek to do the very best work of every sort, not for the praise of men but as unto the Lord, being steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. We ask God to give you fresh strength, as He restores the bow renewed in the hand, and to anoint you with fresh oil for each day's duty, that you may do good work with a clear eye and a willing heart.

Let us pray together.

O faithful Father, Thou hast appointed our days and our warfare, and Thou knowest the struggle of Thy servant in his daily labor. We ask Thee to grant him grace to wait all the days of his appointed time till his change comes, trusting that Thou reignest and that all things work together for good to them that love Thee. If it be Thy will, preserve his place of work and establish the work of his hands. Make him faithful in that which is committed to him, diligent in duty, honest before Thee and before men, and a witness to those around him. Lift him up where he is cast down, and let him see Thy faithful friendship in Christ Jesus, in whose name alone salvation is found. Give him patience in adversity, humility under Thy mighty hand, and joy in knowing Thou art with him in every trial. May his labor be done as service to Thee, and may Thy blessing rest upon it, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
