For my ### and ###

Good day My family and I have gone through the worst time these last two years. We have lost everything we had, and I do mean everything. It was mostly due to my own stupidity. I blame myself and hate myself so much that I allowed this to happen. No matter how hard we try, how much we believe, how much we beg God to help us get things on track again, nothing happens. I'm at the end of my own strength. I'm battling suicidal thoughts on a daily basis. I love my wife and children so so much, but I'm at a place where I cannot continue any longer. Death seems like the only logical option, a welcome relief. Please pray for my ### and kids.

We hear the depths of your despair, and our hearts ache with you in this season of overwhelming loss and pain. You carry a heavy burden of guilt and self-loathing, believing your mistakes have led to this devastation. But we must first remind you, your worth is not defined by your failures, nor is your family’s future determined by your past. The enemy would love for you to believe the lie that you are beyond redemption, that your circumstances are hopeless, and that death is the only escape. But Scripture declares, "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10). The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and conquered the grave is not finished with your story.

Your prayer mentions begging God for help, but it does not mention the name of Jesus, through whom alone we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Christ, repenting of your sins and placing your trust in His finished work on the cross. Only then can you experience the true peace and restoration that comes from being reconciled to God. If you have already done this, we encourage you to cling to the promise that "we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). This does not mean the pain is erased, but that God is weaving even your deepest struggles into something greater.

We must rebuke the spirit of suicide that whispers lies of hopelessness into your mind. The Bible is clear: "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13), and this includes the taking of your own life. Your life is not your own, it was bought with the precious blood of Christ (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). To end it would be to reject the purpose God still has for you and the healing He longs to bring to your family. Instead, we declare over you the truth of Psalm 34:18: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

We also want to gently address the weight of self-hatred you carry. While it is right to take responsibility for your actions, wallowing in guilt without seeking God’s forgiveness and redemption only keeps you in bondage. 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Have you truly laid this burden at the foot of the cross, or are you still carrying it? Jesus bore the punishment for your sins so that you would not have to. His grace is greater than your failures.

To your wife and children, we speak life and hope. They need you, not as a perfect provider, but as a father and husband who fights for them in prayer and clings to God’s promises. Your family is not better off without you, they are who God will use to remind you of His faithfulness even in the darkest valleys. We pray for your wife, that she would be strengthened by the Lord as she carries her own burdens. May she find comfort in Isaiah 41:10: "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." For your children, we pray they would see their father’s faith even in weakness, and that they would grow up knowing their worth is found in Christ alone.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious family who is walking through the fire. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of despair and self-condemnation that have taken hold of this man’s mind. Remind him of Your unfailing love, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Forgive him for the mistakes of the past, and help him to release the guilt that is not his to carry. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of suicide and every lie that tells him his family would be better off without him. We declare that You have a plan and a purpose for his life, and that You are able to restore what has been lost. We ask that You would provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Open doors that no man can shut, and give him the strength to walk through them in faith.

For his wife, Lord, we ask that You would be her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Give her wisdom and grace as she leads her family alongside her husband. Pour out Your comfort upon her, and remind her that her worth is found in You alone. For their children, we pray that You would protect their hearts from fear and doubt. Let them see Your hand at work in their lives, and grow up with a deep trust in Your provision.

Lord, we ask that You would bind this family together with cords of love that cannot be broken. Heal their wounds, restore their hope, and remind them daily that You are their Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.

Oh, we’re standing with you in this pain, friend. We hear the weight of those words, how heavy they must feel, like a stone pressed against your chest every single day. You’re carrying so much, and it’s okay to say that it’s too much. But let’s hold onto this truth together: Jesus doesn’t just see your mistakes, He sees the man you’re becoming, the father your kids still need, the husband your wife still loves. He’s not looking for perfection; He’s looking for a heart that’s willing to let Him carry what you can’t.

We want you to know that your guilt isn’t your master, it’s a prison cell you’ve been sitting in too long. But the door is still open. Jesus didn’t come to condemn; He came to set captives free. And right now, we’re declaring that freedom over you. Your worth isn’t tied to your bank account, your job, or your mistakes, it’s wrapped up in the fact that you’re His. That’s not just a nice thought; it’s the foundation of your life.

And to your family, we’re praying for them too. Your wife and kids are grieving the loss of what you thought you’d have, but they’re also seeing something far more beautiful: a man who’s fighting for them in prayer, who’s still choosing love even when it hurts. They need you, not because you’re flawless, but because you’re real. And right now, we’re asking God to show them His provision in ways that feel impossible to you.

We’re not saying this to make it easier, we’re saying it because we’ve seen what happens when people cling to Jesus in the dark. He doesn’t promise to take away the pain, but He does promise to be with you in it. And that changes everything.

So let’s pray like this right now: Father, we lift this man up to You, raw and real. Break the chains of self-hatred and replace them with Your love. Give him the strength to take one step forward today, even if it’s just opening his Bible or sending one text to his wife. Show him where You’re already at work, even if he can’t see it yet. And for his family, wrap them in Your arms so they know they’re not alone. We ask all of this in Jesus’ name, because He’s the only One who can turn this pain into purpose.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
