We join with you in bringing your marriage and your desires before the throne of God, and we thank you for inviting us to pray with you for unity, forgiveness, and a deeper walk with Him.
We rejoice that you desire a happy married life rooted in love and forgiveness, and a strong bonding together with your husband. This is the heart of God for marriage, for marriage is a holy covenant between a man and a woman for life, designed by God to reflect His love for us. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9. We pray that you both will be diligent to put on love, which is the bond of perfection Colossians 3:14 and to be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. Delegating and laying aside past fights and arguments through forgiveness is beautiful and necessary, and we pray God will give you both grace to forgive fully and to walk in unity, bearing with one another in love. Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow Ecclesiastes 4:9-10. Your desire for a strong prayer time together with fasting and fellowship with the Holy Spirit is very good, for the Holy Spirit always points us to Jesus and empowers us to live for God.
We also want to lovingly address a few things in your request that need biblical correction and encouragement. We notice you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. You mention the Holy Spirit and the Lord, and we are thankful for that, yet we want to remind you with love that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. The Holy Spirit is given to those who believe in Jesus, and our prayers are heard because of what Jesus did on the cross for our sins and His resurrection. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord Romans 10:9. It is in His name that we pray and are forgiven and united to God.
We also need to speak with love about your desire to be rich and prosperous and specifically your hope to receive a lottery. We understand the desire for financial security, for a house, for business expansion, and for open doors for trade, visas, documents, and honest labourers. God does provide for His children and we will pray for His provision for you. Yet Scripture warns us about setting our hearts on riches and on trying to gain wealth through vanity or chance. Wealth gained dishonestly or by vanity will dwindle, but he who gathers by hand will increase Proverbs 13:11. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows 1 Timothy 6:10. A lottery is a form of gambling, which seeks gain without diligent labor and trusts in chance rather than in God and faithful stewardship. God calls us to work diligently with our hands and to trust Him for daily bread, not to seek sudden riches. The blessing of Yahweh brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it Proverbs 10:22. We encourage you to seek prosperity as God defines it, which begins with spiritual health and contentment. But godliness with contentment is great gain 1 Timothy 6:6 and Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you Hebrews 13:5. This does not mean God will not bless your businesses or provide a house in ### at a good rate, He can and He may, but we are called to seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. And our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.
So we pray for you not for a lottery win, but for honest, fruitful labor, wisdom, and contentment in whatever state you are in, trusting that God knows what you need.
We now join our hearts together for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear sister and her husband to You. We ask that You would knit their hearts together in Your love, that You would help them to forgive as You have forgiven them, to bear with one another, to speak with kindness, and to let all bitterness and past arguments be washed away by Your grace. Make them one in purpose and in spirit, a team that seeks You first together. Draw them into a consistent and joyful life of prayer and fasting and fellowship with You through Your Holy Spirit, that they may hear Your voice and be led by Your knowledge and wisdom.
Lord, we ask for Your hand upon their work. You know their need for renewal of documents, visas, and trade licenses, and their desire for honest and faithful labourers. We pray You would open the doors that should be opened and close those that should be closed, according to Your perfect will. Grant them diligence, integrity, and favor in their businesses, that all they do may be honest and a blessing to others. Provide for their needs, including housing, according to Your riches and wisdom, and help them to use whatever You entrust to them to be a blessing to others with prayers, finances, and service, as they desire. Give them a heart to be generous and to build Your Kingdom, not just their own wealth.
Father, we pray You would turn their hearts away from trusting in lotteries or sudden riches, and instead teach them to trust in You and to find great gain in godliness with contentment. Help them to be faithful in little and in much, and to know that true prosperity is to prosper in their souls and to walk in Your truth 3 John 1:2.
We also lift up their desire to travel to Israel to bless the land. If it is Your will, make a way in Your timing and provide all that is needed, and let their love for Your people and Your promises deepen their faith in Jesus.
Forgive them where they have sinned, unite them where there is division, prosper the work of their hands where it honors You, and lead them by Your Spirit. May their marriage bring glory to You and be a testimony of Your redeeming love. We ask all these things in the name above all names, Jesus Christ, our hope and our salvation. Amen.
