For marriage

We hear your cry for companionship and the deep loneliness that weighs on your heart. The pain of a broken relationship and the emptiness of living alone are heavy burdens to carry, but we stand with you in prayer, lifting this before our Heavenly Father who sees your tears and knows your longing.

First, we must address the foundation of any godly marriage: it is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established by God Himself in the beginning. Genesis 2:24 tells us, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." This union is holy, designed to reflect Christ’s love for His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If your past relationship did not honor this truth—whether through premarital intimacy, ungodly partnerships, or other unbiblical foundations—we must repent and seek God’s forgiveness. The Lord is faithful to cleanse and restore those who turn to Him with sincere hearts (1 John 1:9).

Your loneliness is real, but we encourage you not to seek marriage as the sole remedy for your pain. Instead, let your heart be anchored in Christ, who promises, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). Seek Him first, and He will guide your steps toward His will for your life—whether that includes marriage or a season of singleness for His glory. Remember, singleness is not a curse; it is an opportunity to serve the Lord wholeheartedly (1 Corinthians 7:32-35).

If God is calling you to marriage, we pray for a spouse who loves the Lord above all else—a man or woman of faith, integrity, and godly character. Proverbs 18:22 reminds us, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord." But let your pursuit be rooted in prayer, patience, and discernment, trusting God’s timing rather than your own desires.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who feels the weight of loneliness and the ache of a broken past. Lord, You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask that You would draw near to them in this season, filling the void in their heart with Your perfect peace and presence.

Father, we repent for any ways we have sought fulfillment outside of Your will—whether in relationships, emotions, or worldly comforts. Cleanse us, Lord, and renew a right spirit within us. Help our brother/sister to seek You first, trusting that You know the plans You have for them—plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

If it is Your will, Lord, we ask that You would prepare a godly spouse for them, a partner who loves You and will walk in Your ways. Guard their heart from impatience, fear, or compromise, and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet (Psalm 119:105). Strengthen them in this season of waiting, reminding them that You are their ultimate satisfaction.

We rebuke the spirit of depression and isolation in the name of Jesus, declaring that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill them with Your joy, purpose, and the assurance that they are deeply loved by You.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Dear God, I don't know how you can restore my marriage. My ex-husband was having an affair even when we were not divorced yet. Not after divorcing me, he remarried with another woman. Is it God's intent to let me be single, raising up our son alone?
