We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up your brother in earnest prayer for his complete healing and restoration. The Word of God assures us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We claim this promise over your brother, trusting that God is faithful to heal and restore.
A stroke and high blood pressure are serious conditions, but we know that nothing is impossible with our God. In Jeremiah 30:17, the Lord declares, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."* We stand on this truth, asking the Lord to touch your brother’s body, renewing his mind and strengthening his heart. Let every damaged cell be restored, every vessel be cleansed, and his blood pressure be stabilized by the power of the Holy Spirit. We also pray for wisdom and skill for the medical professionals attending to him, that they may be guided by God’s hand in every decision.
Yet, as we pray for physical healing, we must also consider the spiritual. Illness can sometimes be a call to examine our lives before the Lord. We encourage you and your brother to seek God’s face, repenting of any sin that may hinder his healing. Psalm 32:3-5 reminds us, *"When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin."* Let this be a time of drawing closer to God, trusting in His sovereignty and goodness, regardless of the outcome.
We also pray for your family during this time, that you would be filled with peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Anxiety and fear have no place in the hearts of those who trust in the Lord. Instead, let faith arise as you wait upon Him. Remember the words of Jesus in Mark 11:24, *"Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them."*
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, interceding for this brother who is suffering. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who formed him in his mother’s womb and knows every detail of his body. We ask for Your healing touch to flow through him, restoring every part of his brain and body affected by this stroke. Bring his blood pressure under control and grant him strength and vitality. Let this trial be a testimony of Your power and grace, that many may see and glorify Your name.
We rebuke every spirit of infirmity and sickness in the name of Jesus, commanding it to leave and never return. Let the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let Your presence be his comfort and strength. We also pray for his salvation if he has not yet surrendered his life to You—draw him to Yourself, Lord, that he may know You as his Savior and Healer.
Father, we thank You in advance for the miracle You are working in his life. We trust in Your timing and Your will, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Strengthen the faith of this family as they wait upon You, and let this season be one of deepened trust and worship. In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
