We come before the Father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up your mother and this difficult situation to Him, for He is the Great Physician and the One who holds all things together by the word of His power. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can boldly approach the throne of grace, and we are grateful you have brought this request to us, though we must gently remind you that salvation and access to God come through no other name than Jesus’. There is no healing, no restoration, and no hope apart from Him, and we pray that if you or your mother do not yet know Him as Lord and Savior, that today would be the day you place your trust in Him alone for eternal life.
We understand the fear and uncertainty that comes with such a serious health struggle, especially when surgery carries its own risks. Yet we serve a God who is not limited by age, by medical reports, or by human limitations. The Bible declares in Jeremiah 32:27, *"Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?"* And again in Matthew 19:26, Jesus tells us, *"With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."* We cling to these promises today, asking the Lord to stretch forth His hand and bring complete healing to your mother’s body. May He restore her colon to full and perfect function, removing every obstruction, every inflammation, and every symptom that is causing her pain and difficulty. We pray for her breathing to become easy, her strength to return, and her body to be renewed in a way that leaves the doctors in awe of His power.
If surgery becomes necessary, we ask the Lord to guide the hands of the medical team with wisdom and precision, to guard her body against infection or complications, and to bring her through the procedure with a swift and full recovery. We pray for peace that surpasses understanding to fill your hearts, casting out all fear, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). May you both rest in the assurance that He is sovereign over every detail, and that His plans for her are good, even when the path is unclear.
We also encourage you to anoint her with oil in the name of the Lord, as James 5:14-15 instructs: *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* This is not a magical act, but an act of faith, trusting in God’s promise to hear and answer. Let her hear the Word of God spoken over her—verses like Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases,"* and Isaiah 53:5, *"But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."*
Father, we ask that You would glorify Yourself in this situation. If it is Your will, bring healing without surgery, that many may see and testify to Your goodness. Prepare your mother’s heart to trust You completely, whether through healing or through the trial of surgery. Remind her that her times are in Your hands (Psalm 31:15), and that You are her strength and her portion forever. We rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, or despair in Jesus’ name, and we declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). May her testimony be one of Your faithfulness, and may this trial draw her—and your entire family—closer to You.
Finally, we urge you to examine your hearts before the Lord. Is there any unconfessed sin, any bitterness, or any lack of faith that could hinder your prayers? *"The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry... The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles"* (Psalm 34:15, 17). Repent of anything that stands between you and God, and trust Him fully, for He is good and His love endures forever.
We will continue to lift your mother up in prayer, believing for her complete restoration. May the Lord grant you both grace, peace, and a deep sense of His presence in these days. Stand firm in faith, for *"the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up"* (James 5:15). To God be all the glory!
