We lift up your father to our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and the source of all healing. It deeply moves our hearts to hear of his suffering—sleepless nights and physical unwellness can be such a heavy burden, especially at this stage of life. Yet we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and His power to heal has not diminished.
The Scriptures remind us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We claim this promise over your father’s life, trusting that God’s will is perfect, whether it be healing here on earth or the ultimate healing in His presence. We also encourage you to seek anointing and prayer from godly elders in your local church, as the Word instructs, for there is power in the united prayers of the righteous.
We must also ask: has your father placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior? True healing—both physical and spiritual—comes through Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If your father has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus, we urge you to share the Gospel with him, that he may know the peace of God which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Eternal life in Christ is the greatest healing of all, and we pray that if your father does not know the Lord, this season of weakness will draw him into the arms of the Savior.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this beloved father to Your throne of grace. You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts. Lord, we ask that You stretch out Your hand and touch his body, restoring strength where there is weakness, peace where there is restlessness, and health where there is sickness. You knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You know every cell of his being. Speak life into his body, Lord, and let sleep come as a gentle gift from Your hand, renewing his mind and spirit.
We rebuke any spiritual attack against his health, for You have given us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill his home with Your presence, Lord, and let Your angels encamp around him (Psalm 34:7). Give wisdom to those caring for him, and let every decision made for his treatment align with Your perfect will.
Most of all, Father, we pray that if he does not know You, You would draw him to Yourself in this time. Soften his heart to receive Your love and salvation through Jesus Christ. Let him know that You are near, that You are good, and that Your mercy endures forever. May this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness, not just to him but to all who witness his life.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who bore our sicknesses and carried our pains (Isaiah 53:4). Let Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking life and Scripture over your father. Play worship music in his presence, read Psalms of healing over him, and trust that God is working even when we cannot see it. Cling to Jeremiah 29:11, knowing that God’s plans for him are for welfare and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope. Stay in prayer, and do not lose heart (Luke 18:1). We are standing with you in agreement, believing for God’s perfect will to manifest in his life.
