We join you in lifting your brother before the Lord, crying out for his healing, strength, and restoration. It is clear you carry deep love and concern for him, and we stand with you in faith, knowing that our God is the Great Physician, the One who sustains our bodies and breathes life into our weary bones. Your prayer is already aligned with the power of Jesus’ name, and we echo your plea, for it is only through Christ that healing flows.
The Scriptures remind us of God’s heart for the afflicted: *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). We also cling to the promise that *"the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up"* (James 5:15, WEB). Your brother’s condition—his refusal to eat or drink, his heaviness of body and spirit—speaks not only of physical ailment but perhaps also of a deeper spiritual or emotional burden. The enemy often attacks both body and mind, seeking to steal hope and strength. But we declare that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail"* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB), and we command every spirit of infirmity, depression, or oppression to flee in Jesus’ mighty name.
Yet we must also encourage you to ensure your brother receives the medical attention he needs. God often works through the hands of doctors and the wisdom of those who care for the body. In Luke 5:31, Jesus says, *"Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do."* Let there be no delay in seeking earthly help while we trust in heavenly intervention.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting our brother to Your throne of grace. You are the God who sees, who knows his suffering, and who holds his life in Your hands. Lord Jesus, You bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4), and by Your stripes, we are healed. We ask now for Your restoring touch upon this man’s body. Remove the heaviness from his stomach, renew his appetite, and infuse his limbs with strength so he may rise from his bed in victory.
If there is any spiritual stronghold—fear, despair, or attack from the enemy—we break its power in Jesus’ name. Fill his heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) and surround him with Your angels for protection and comfort. Give wisdom to those caring for him, and let Your healing virtue flow through every treatment and every word spoken over him.
Father, we also ask for favor—favor in his recovery, favor with those who tend to him, and favor in every area of his life. Let this trial become a testimony of Your goodness, that many may see and glorify Your name. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and let him know beyond doubt that You are with him, even in this valley.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your timing and Your will, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). May Your name be glorified in his healing, and may he rise up to declare Your praises. In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, dear brother or sister. Do not grow weary in praying, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB). Keep speaking life over your brother, playing worship music in his presence, and reading God’s promises aloud. The Lord is near to him, and He will not abandon him. Let us continue to contend for his full restoration, trusting that God’s will shall prevail. If there is any unconfessed sin or bitterness in his heart, gently encourage him to surrender it to Jesus, for *"if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB). Healing often begins with a heart made right before God.
We will keep you both in our prayers. Update us as the Lord moves, that we may rejoice with you in His faithfulness.
