We join together with you in prayer for your journey back to town and we thank God with you for the sweet time you have had with your mother in the village and for the opportunity to worship together in the Sunday church service before you depart.

We lift up your request for a happy heart and a strong heart and not a sorrowful heart, for you and for your mother as you part. The Lord understands the ache of parting and He is near to comfort. We pray that He will fill both your hearts and your mother's heart with His joy and peace that remains even when you must say farewell for a time. A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones Proverbs 17:22, and the joy of Yahweh is your strength Nehemiah 8:10. We pray that your farewell will be with smiles and blessing and not with heavy tears, knowing that the Lord will keep your mother in His care while you are apart. He has promised I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you Hebrews 13:5 and even when we feel alone He sets the lonely in families Psalm 68:6. We ask Him to guard your mother from loneliness and sadness and to surround her with His presence and peace.

We also bring before the Lord your travel over the hilly stations and high altitude roads. We know the roads can be difficult in monsoon season and we thank Him that it has not been raining this week. We ask for His hand of protection over the car and over your brother as he drives, and over all five of you, your sister in law and your niece and your cousin sister and your brother. We pray Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more Psalm 121:7-8. We pray He will give your brother alertness, wisdom and steady hands, and keep him from drowsiness or distraction, and that you will all walk in safety. Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble Proverbs 3:23. We ask for calm weather, stable roads, and no landslides or danger on the way, and for His angels to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11.

We especially lift up your little niece who becomes restless and cries on the long journey, wanting to get down, feeling hot and sweaty and bored from sitting so long in the car. We pray the Lord will grant her peace and comfort and a calm spirit. We ask Him to help her to rest and even to fall asleep and to enjoy the scenery with wonder rather than irritation, so that she is comfortable and cool and content until you reach home. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that peace will guard her little heart and that your brother will be able to drive peacefully without distraction, and that the whole journey will be filled with joy rather than disturbance.

We notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ and we want to gently encourage you in this, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by calling on the name of Jesus and believing that God raised Him from the dead that we are saved Romans 10:9. So we come to God together in the name of Jesus, trusting His grace and mercy for every need.

So we pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for this family and for their time together in the village with their mother. We ask You to bless their departure after the church service tomorrow and to grant them a safe, smooth and joyful journey back to their home town. Protect the roads through the hills and keep the car steady. Give skill and clear mind to the brother who is driving and keep all passengers safe. Touch the little niece with Your calming hand, take away her restlessness and heat and discomfort, let her be peaceful, let her sleep and enjoy the journey without crying, and let the whole family travel with happy and strong hearts. Comfort the mother who remains in the village, let her not be overcome with sorrow or loneliness but let her farewell be with a smile and with hope, knowing You are with her and will bring her family back again. Fill each heart with Your joy and strength. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We are holding you and your family in prayer as you prepare to leave your village tomorrow after church. We hear how much you want this to be a happy going, not a heavy one, for you and for your mom.

Travel on those hill roads in monsoon season can feel uncertain, even when the rain has held off this week. We are praying for steady hands for your brother as he drives and for protection over all five of you on the way home.

For your little niece we understand how hard a long ride is when she gets hot and restless and just wants to be outside. It can help to have a light change of clothes, water and a small snack close by, something familiar for her to hold, and to plan one or two short stops to stretch if the road allows it. Talking together beforehand about who will sit near her and help keep her cool and comfortable can also ease the strain on your brother so he can focus on driving.

And for your mom, goodbyes are tender. Leaving with smiles does not mean you will not miss each other, it just means you carry your love home with you. A simple plan for when you will call after you arrive often helps both sides feel less alone.

Father, we ask You to watch over this family tomorrow, give alertness and wisdom to the driver, keep the road steady, give peace and even sleep to this little girl, and comfort mom with Your nearness as she stays in the village. Bring them home safely and with joyful hearts. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request has been heard and we join with you in bringing it before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to grant you a happy heart and a strong heart and to keep sorrow far from you on this journey.

We pray that the Lord who is your safe shelter will cover you with His feathers and that under His wings you shall trust as you travel from the village home over the hilly roads. Though the way is high and the roads are made difficult by the monsoon season, we ask that He who ordains peace for His people will ordain peace for your journey tomorrow after the Sunday service. May He give watchful care and steadiness to your brother as he drives, keeping his eye clear and his hand steady, and keeping the car and all who are within it in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon Him.

We pray also for your little niece who finds the long confinement of the car to be wearisome and hot and who grows restless and cries. We ask the Lord to grant her quietness and comfort, to cool her and calm her, to give her sweet sleep or joyful looking upon the scenery, so that she may be at peace and the whole company may travel without distress. The Lord who whispers peace within by the blood of Jesus can give peace even in the midst of discomfort, and we ask Him to bestow that gentle peace upon this child.

And we remember your mother as you bid her farewell. To part from loved ones is a tender sorrow, and loneliness may press upon the heart that remains at home. Yet we pray that the God of all comfort will comfort her heart, that He will not leave her alone but will be her companion and keeper. May He give to her and to you a joyful parting without bitter tears, a smiling farewell in the assurance that you are all safe in Jesus keeping, whether near or far away. For those who are kept in Him are safe, and they who remain are safe also in His care.

May the Lord establish you in every good word and work, and may He comfort your hearts together, that you may go forth with joy and return to your home town in safety and gladness, remembering that this is your comfort in affliction, that His Word has quickened you and His promise keeps you. We commit your going out and your coming in to Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps, trusting all to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name alone is salvation and peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
