For God's help

Beloved of All
May this not have had (or not have) any bad consequence; may God forgive any wrongdoing and mend any error of mine, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

We join with you in this humble and sincere prayer before the Lord and we thank you for seeking His mercy and help in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and confidence that we are heard.

Your heart to ask for forgiveness and for God to mend any error and to prevent any bad consequence is pleasing to Him, for He desires a contrite and honest heart. We are reminded of the promise in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And again in Psalm 103:12, As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. When we bring our wrongdoing into the light before Him, He does not turn us away but forgives and restores.

We also take comfort that even our mistakes and shortcomings are not beyond His sovereign power to redeem and to mend. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28. What we cannot fix, He can make straight as we trust Him. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

If there is any specific wrongdoing on your conscience, we encourage you to name it plainly before the Lord in repentance, to turn from it, and to walk in obedience going forward, trusting not in your own ability to undo the past but in His grace to cover it and His power to bring good from it. And we encourage you to release anxiety about consequences into His hands, as we are taught in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You know the situation that weighs on their heart, every detail, every error, every consequence seen and unseen. We ask for Your mercy and Your forgiveness for any wrongdoing, whether in thought, word, or deed. Cleanse and restore according to Your faithful promise. Lord, we ask that by Your grace You would mend what is broken, redeem what has been done in error, and prevent any bad consequence from taking root. Where there has been harm or the possibility of harm, we ask for Your protective hand and Your healing power. Grant peace where there is worry, and wisdom for the steps ahead. Help this dear one to walk closely with You, to trust Your sovereignty, and to rest in the assurance that You are working for good. May Your will be done and may Your name be glorified in this. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this humble prayer with us. We hear how much you want to be forgiven and for God to gently mend anything that went wrong, and for no lingering harm to remain.

That desire itself matters. Wanting to own what was yours to own and wanting God to cover what you cannot fix is a good and honest place to be before Him. It is easy to stay stuck replaying what ifs, so we encourage you to keep bringing the specific concern to Jesus in a quiet moment, naming it plainly as you already have, and asking Him for wisdom about any simple, responsible step you can take if something does need to be made right. If the worry keeps circling, it can also help to share it confidentially with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can listen and pray with you in person.

We are praying with you and for you.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. Thank You that You hear this prayer for mercy and for mending. Please forgive what needs forgiveness, bring healing where there has been error, and in Your kindness limit any harmful consequence. Give peace, clear wisdom for next steps, and confidence in Your care. Amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and we join you in it with an earnest heart. You ask that no bad consequence may follow, that any wrongdoing may be forgiven, and that any error may be mended in the Name of Jesus, and this is a prayer which God delights to hear.

There is forgiveness with God, and that is our hope. The Lord Himself saith, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. He doth not forgive for the sake of our repentance or our faith, though He gives us both, but purely of His own dear love, because He delighteth in mercy. He not only forgave at the first all our sins, but He continueth daily to forgive, and the forgiveness which He giveth for Christ's sake is an eternal forgiveness. Whatever your life may have been until now, though you have sinned against light and knowledge, against mercy, against God and Christ His dear Son, yet still there is forgiveness. You cannot go beyond His mercy if you will trust His Son.

Yet let us weigh our repentance in the scales and balances of truth. There is a carnal repentance which is of the flesh and after the manner of our sinful nature, which dwells only upon the consequences of sin rather than upon the sin itself, and keeps the soul from believing. That repentance needs to be repented of. True repentance, the repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepteth, gives God glory. It glorifies the sovereignty of His mercy, so that the man deeply conscious of his guilt saith, Lord, I have no claim upon Thee, I have no right but the right to be punished, yet have mercy upon me according to Thy lovingkindness, according to the multitude of Thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. It looks out of self to Christ, and to Christ only. It yields works meet for repentance, it is practical and it lasts, for repentance lives as long as faith. Sweet sister Repentance is charming company and should walk with us all our days, with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the love of Christ and His great finished work.

Therefore cast yourself upon the mercy of your Judge and you shall find mercy, but first acknowledge that you need mercy. Meet your God at the Mercy Seat lest you have to meet Him at the Judgment Seat. Come and put your trust in Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other, and plead His blood and righteousness. He can save you, be you as black as hell He can save you, and it is a falsehood to believe you are past the mercy of God.

We pray with you and for you, that the Lord in His infinite wisdom and goodness would in His mercy prevent any harmful consequence where it may be prevented according to His holy will, that He would graciously forgive all wrongdoing for His own Name's sake through the atoning sacrifice of His Son, that He would mend every error and make even our mistakes to serve His glory, and that He would grant you a true repentance unto life and a full assurance of pardon. May He keep you from present sin by the love of Him who died for you, and daily load you with His benefits as you trust His dear Son.

We commend you to Him who is ready to forgive, who is never more like Himself than when He passeth by transgression, iniquity and sin. May the Lord give you peace through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
