We hear your heartfelt cry and the deep longing you have for a godly marriage. Your desire is not wrong—God Himself said, *"It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him"* (Genesis 2:18). Marriage is a beautiful gift from the Lord, designed to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). First, we must address the matter of your parents’ hesitation. It is understandable that you feel frustrated, but we urge you to honor them even in this difficulty. Scripture commands, *"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you"* (Exodus 20:12). Their concerns may stem from love, even if misplaced. Instead of withdrawing from them, we encourage you to pray for wisdom to communicate your heart in a way that honors God and them. Ask the Lord to soften their hearts and align their thoughts with His will for your life. *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps"* (Proverbs 16:9). Trust that if it is God’s timing, He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
Your desire for a wife who is caring, loving, God-fearing, and modest in appearance is beautiful and biblical. *"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised"* (Proverbs 31:30). We pray that God would bring such a woman into your life—one who loves Him above all else and whose heart is knit to yours in Christ. But we must also caution against placing undue pressure on yourself or others.
