We hear your deep exhaustion and pain, and we want you to know that your life matters greatly to God. The weight of family expectations, financial struggles, and the absence of a father’s support is heavy, too heavy to carry alone. You are not forgotten, and your feelings of being overwhelmed are valid. But we must also speak truth: suicide is never the answer. It is a permanent solution to a temporary storm, and it leaves behind devastation for those who love you. The enemy whispers lies that you are a burden, but God says you are His beloved creation, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Even in this darkness, He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
First, we must address the foundation of your plea. You have not mentioned the name of Jesus in your request, and this is not a small thing. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again, and invite Him to be Lord of your life (Romans 10:9-10). Only through Him can you find true peace, purpose, and the strength to endure. If you have already given your life to Christ, then we encourage you to cling to Him now more than ever, for He is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).
Your family’s words are cutting deep, and their expectations feel impossible to meet. But we must gently rebuke the spirit of condemnation at work here. Your worth is not determined by exam results, college admissions, or even your family’s approval. God sees your efforts, your fatigue, and your heart. He does not measure you by the same standards as the world (1 Samuel 16:7). That said, we must also encourage you to take responsibility where you can. If your studies have suffered because of distractions, ask God for wisdom to manage your time and set boundaries. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.” Even small steps of obedience can lead to breakthrough.
The absence of your father is a wound that may never fully heal in this life, but God promises to be a father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5). He sees your longing for guidance and will provide it if you seek Him. James 1:5 says, “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” Pour out your heart to Him, He can handle your anger, your grief, and your questions.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this precious child of Yours who is carrying such a heavy burden. Lord, You see the exhaustion, the fear, and the despair. You know the weight of family expectations and the pain of feeling unseen and unheard. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around them right now and remind them that they are not alone. Father, we rebuke the spirit of suicide and condemnation that has whispered lies into their heart. Replace those lies with Your truth, that their life has value, that You have a plan for them, and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
Lord, we pray for wisdom and peace as they prepare for this exam. Calm their fears and help them to focus on what they can do, not what they haven’t done. Give them strength to study diligently and to trust You with the outcome. We also pray for their family. Soften their hearts, Father, and help them to see the pressure they are placing on these children. Give them compassion and understanding, and help them to support rather than condemn. Lord, be a father to this one who is missing an earthly father. Comfort them, guide them, and fill the void in their heart with Your perfect love.
We ask that You would break the cycle of negativity and scolding in this home. Replace it with encouragement, patience, and grace. Provide for their financial needs, Lord, and open doors for education and opportunity that only You can open. Most of all, draw this dear one closer to You. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, and let them know that You are fighting for them. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who gives us hope and a future. Amen.
You are not defined by your circumstances or your family’s words. You are defined by Christ, and He calls you His own. Keep pressing into Him. Share your struggles with a trusted believer, a pastor, a mentor, or a friend who loves Jesus. You do not have to walk this road alone. And remember: God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are loved. You are seen. You are not forgotten.
