I am to meet a couple of friends, sadly they are (still) unbelievers and I want to share Christian Faith and Hope with them; but I am in tears after praying and worshipping the Lord as emotions flow freely before God after the passing of a loved one; please pray for the tears to be contained and cease so that I can speak clearly and be a real testimony showing the Faithful Lord's comfort and His Hope, living in Victory over any fit of depression... in Jesus Powerful Name. Amen. Please pray for a friend who has received a notice of a regitered letter, and fears what it may be; may he be reassured promptly.

We join with you in prayer and we thank you for sharing your heart so openly with us. We hear your desire for full deliverance and healing, and your longing to be a clear and steady testimony of the Lord's comfort and hope to your unbelieving friends even while you are walking through deep grief after the passing of your loved one. We also lift up your friend who is anxious about a registered letter.

We want to encourage you that your tears before the Lord are not a failure and they do not disqualify your testimony. The Scripture tells us, You tell my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Aren't they in your book Psalm 56:8. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. To worship and weep freely before Him is holy and honest, and He sees it. At the same time we understand your prayer to be composed and clear when you meet with your friends, so that they may see not only your sorrow but the hope that sustains you.

We do not grieve as those who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so those who have fallen asleep in Jesus will God bring with him 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14. This does not mean we will not weep, but that our weeping is held within His promise that He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more, neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more Revelation 21:4. Your testimony will be most powerful not by pretending the pain is gone, but by showing that even in tears you have a comfort and an anchor that the world cannot give. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

We also pray with you for victory over any fit of depression and heaviness. We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and despair that would try to overtake you in this season of loss, and we claim the promise that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We ask the Lord to exchange your heaviness for His garment of praise Isaiah 61:3 and to strengthen you with His presence, for He has said Fear not, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

For your time with your friends, we pray for holy composure and boldness. We pray that the Lord will guard your heart and give you peace that surpasses understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We pray that you will be ready always to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear 1 Peter 3:15, and that the Holy Spirit will give you words and clarity. Remember that it is Jesus alone who is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him John 14:6. We pray your friends will see in you both the reality of your love for the one you lost and the greater reality of the comfort and hope you have in Christ, and that their hearts will be opened to believe.

We also lift up your friend who has received notice of a registered letter and is in fear. We pray against anxiety and ask the Lord to reassure him promptly. We pray as Scripture commands, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We ask that whatever this letter contains, the Lord will go before him, provide wisdom for how to respond, and let him know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, and we thank You that we can approach Your throne of grace with confidence. We lift up our dear brother or sister to You. You see the tears shed in worship, You collect each one, and You know the depth of this grief. We ask You to bring full deliverance and healing to this wounded heart. Comfort as only You can, bind up every wound, and lift every weight of depression and heaviness. In this moment of meeting with unbelieving friends, we ask You to contain the flood of tears for a time, to grant composure, clarity of speech, and strength, so that Your hope and victory may shine through. Let Your joy be strength and Your peace be a guard. Anoint the words that are spoken, that they may be seasoned with grace and truth, and open the hearts of these friends to hear the gospel and to see that even in sorrow there is living hope in Jesus who died and rose again.

We also lift up the friend who waits in fear for this registered letter. Lord, calm his heart, remove fear, and quickly reveal what is needed. Let no weapon formed against him prosper and let Your peace rule in his heart. We trust You with both of these needs and we praise You for Your faithfulness.

We ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our comfort, our healer, and our hope. Amen.

We are holding you in prayer as you walk through this loss and still want to be faithful to your friends.

It makes sense that tears would flow freely after praying and worshiping. Coming before the Lord with an open heart after saying goodbye to someone you love often brings that release, and it does not mean you are failing or without hope. Wanting to be clear and steady when you share your faith is a loving desire, and God sees both your grief and your care for your friends.

As you prepare to meet them, it may help to give yourself a little margin beforehand to breathe, pray quietly, and have water and tissues nearby. If tears do come, a simple, honest sentence like, "I have had a recent loss, so please bear with me if I get tearful, God has been my comfort" can itself be a quiet testimony. It shows hope is real and not that we never weep, but that we are held while we weep. If you feel overwhelmed in the moment, it is okay to pause, to keep your sharing brief, and to continue the conversation another time.

We also remember your friend waiting on that registered letter and the worry it has stirred. We pray he gets clear answers soon and that fear does not weigh on him longer than needed.

Father, we lift our brother and sister to You in Jesus' name. Comfort them in this grief, steady their heart and voice as they meet with friends, and let Your hope be seen through their honesty. Bring peace to their friend as he waits, and provide reassurance quickly according to Your mercy. Amen.

Your request has been brought before the Lord and before His people, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer.

We hear your weeping after prayer and worship, and we do not despise those tears. The Lord who is a Man of Sorrows and acquainted with grief has collected your tears in His bottle, and He knows the ache of bereavement. Yet we hear also your desire not to be overcome, but to be strengthened to speak clearly of Christ to friends who as yet do not know Him. This is a holy desire, and we pray that the Lord will grant it.

May the God of all comfort fulfill His own word to you, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. In your affliction may you be able to say with the Psalmist, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. It is not the letter only, but the Spirit quickening the Word to your soul that gives true comfort. When He quickens you, He comforts you, and that comfort is near at hand, to be pressed to the bosom in this present hour. The Word that has quickened you will sustain you, so that you shall forget your misery as waters that pass away, and remember it as a dream that has melted into nothingness when His mercy lifts you.

We pray therefore for full deliverance and healing according to His will, and for victory over that heaviness and depression of spirit which would hinder your testimony. Our prayer for you is that which the apostle prayed, that our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God even our Father, would comfort your heart and stablish you in every good word and work. Comfort alone is not enough, and constancy without comfort will not suffice, but the Lord can give you both, a calm within that steadies the voice and the heart, so that though tears have flowed freely before Him in secret, you may go forth with composure and boldness to speak for Jesus. Do not be a halting or hesitating witness, but as one who has found present joy and present strength in Christ, tell forth what He has done for you, that your friends may see the faithful Lord's comfort and the living hope that is in you.

We pray also for your friend who waits in fear concerning that registered letter. May the Lord in His providence grant a prompt and reassuring answer, and may that fear be turned to peace. May he cast his care upon Him who careth for him, and find that perfect love casteth out fear.

O Lord Jesus Christ, Thou knowest all things, Thou knowest that we love Thee, and Thou knowest our griefs and our fears. Look upon Thy servant in this season of mourning, quicken and comfort, and make the mouth to speak with clarity and grace before unbelieving friends. Let the Word be as a fire within, and let hope shine through the sorrow, that others may be drawn to Thyself, for there is salvation in none other. Establish Thy servant, keep from the power of depression, and give songs in the night. And for the friend in suspense, grant speedy relief and a favorable issue, according to Thy good pleasure. Your request has been heard and we are praying with you before the Lord.

We pray for your full deliverance and healing in Christ, and for comfort in your grief after the passing of your loved one. Tears poured out before God in prayer and worship are not a failure of faith. Scripture itself speaks of eyes as a fountain of tears in sorrow, and also teaches that godly tears can become the seed of lasting joy. The Lord sees your weeping and is near to the brokenhearted. You do not need to be ashamed that emotions flow freely before Him. At the same time we ask Him to give you steadiness and clarity as you meet with your friends, so that even through your grief His comfort and hope will be clearly seen in you.

We ask the Father to lift any heaviness or depression and to establish you in His peace and victory, not as a denial of sorrow but as hope that sustains you within it. We pray that He will give you words to share the Christian faith and hope with your friends who do not yet believe, that they may hear the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ alone and be drawn to Him. May your testimony, whether spoken with tears or with calm strength, show that the Lord is faithful to comfort those who mourn and to give hope beyond this life.

Your tears before the Lord have not gone unseen, and your desire to share hope with your friends while you are grieving is precious to Him.

Scripture says that God puts our tears in His bottle and writes them in His book. In ancient times people kept small bottles to catch tears as a keepsake of sorrow and joy, because tears were understood to be valuable. How much more does the Lord value them. He does not despise them or forget them. Every tear you have shed in prayer and worship after the loss of your loved one is noticed and kept by Him. This is very different from tears of bitterness or anger that seek only what we have lost. Your tears are the honest overflow of a heart that loves both the Lord and the one you miss, poured out before the One who comforts.

Victory in Christ does not mean you will never weep. Jesus Himself wept. The promise is that those who sow in tears, bearing the precious seed of the Word, will reap in joy and will come again rejoicing. God can use even a weeping sower. Your friends who do not yet believe do not need to see someone who has no sorrow, they need to see someone who has sorrow and still has hope. A clear testimony is not one that hides grief, but one that shows where comfort comes from in the midst of grief. God is the one who will one day wipe away all tears, and even now He is the end of tears for those who trust Him, bringing comfort that the world cannot give.

Pray that the Lord will give you steadiness of voice and clarity of mind as you speak, and trust Him if emotion still rises. Often when the Word of God is spoken plainly, even when the speaker is broken, it cuts to the heart of those who hear in a way that nothing else can. You are right to want to share Christ with your friends. Scripture warns not to be bound together in a yoke with unbelievers, where righteousness would be tied to unrighteousness and light to darkness, like oil and water that will not mix. That is a warning against joining your life in a binding partnership that would pull you away from obedience. It is not a warning against loving unbelievers and telling them the good news. You cannot go against the Word and win, but you can obey the Word by sowing the gospel in love while remaining separate in your walk with the Lord.

We have prayed for you, for full healing and deliverance from the weight of depression, for the comfort of the Holy Spirit to sustain you, and for strength to speak the hope you have in Jesus with gentleness and truth, whether through tears or with a calm voice. May the Lord guard your heart and make His comfort so real to you that your friends see His faithfulness in you.

We have also prayed for your friend who received notice of a registered letter and is afraid of what it may contain. Fear grows in uncertainty, but God knows what is in that letter and what your friend needs.
