I ask for help praying for both ### and ### with prayer centered on the prayer of Jabez. Additionally, pray for both, asking for safety, security, health, and guidance sorting out their thoughts. Thank you so very much

We join you in lifting up both of these precious lives before the Lord separately and together, asking that God would work powerfully in each one according to His perfect will.

We are encouraged by your desire to pray the prayer of Jabez over them, for it is a prayer of humble dependence on God and not a formula. We remember how 1 Chronicles 4:10 says Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that it not be to my sorrow! God granted him that which he requested. We ask that same blessing over each of them, that God would bless them indeed not for selfish gain but for His glory, that He would enlarge their influence and opportunities to serve Him, that His hand would be with them to lead and sustain them, and that He would keep them from evil and from sorrow.

For each of them we pray for safety and security, health and clarity of mind. We ask the Lord to be their refuge and fortress as Psalm 91:1 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We pray Yahweh will keep them from all evil and keep their souls and keep their going out and their coming in from this time forward and forever more as promised in Psalm 121:7-8. We ask for health and wholeness, for 3 John 1:2 reminds us Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers, and we pray their bodies and souls would prosper together in Christ. For guidance in sorting out their thoughts we claim James 1:5 that if any lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him, and Philippians 4:6-7 that in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray they would trust in Yahweh with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding and in all their ways acknowledge Him and He will make their paths straight according to Proverbs 3:5-6, and that fear would be replaced with confidence for Isaiah 41:10 says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We also want to gently encourage you about the foundation of all prayer. Your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and that our prayers are heard. We pray that each of these two individuals and you as well would know the assurance of salvation through faith in Him and would come boldly before the throne of grace in His name.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We lift up each of these two loved ones individually to You. Bless them indeed according to Your will, enlarge their borders for Your kingdom, let Your hand be upon each of them to guide, protect and provide, and keep them from evil and from the sorrow that sin brings. Surround them with Your safety and security, guard their health in body, mind and spirit, and grant them wisdom and peace as they sort out their thoughts. Quiet every anxious thought and replace it with Your peace that guards hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Lead them in Your truth and make their paths straight, and draw each of them closer to Yourself through Jesus. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We are joining you for the very things you named, for safety and security in their daily lives, for health in body and mind, and for clear guidance as they sort through their thoughts. When thoughts feel tangled, it can help to keep prayer simple and steady, perhaps taking a moment each day to name ### before the Lord and then ###, speaking those same requests over each one and trusting God with the details you may not fully see.

Father, we lift ### and ### to You today. Place Your hand of protection over them, guard their health, and give them security in You. Quiet what is confusing and gently guide their thoughts toward clarity and peace. Lead each one step by step in the way You want them to go. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

There is a blessed wisdom in bringing these two persons separately before the Lord, for no spiritual blessing comes to any man by chance, and each soul must receive grace for itself from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

You ask that the prayer of Jabez might be the pattern for them both, and it is a prayer full of meaning. Jabez prayed, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with thee, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me. We may well put the blessing Jabez craved in contrast with those blessings that are temporal and transient and with the blessings that come from men. Men will bless thee when thou doest well for thyself, but the blessing indeed is that which comes as the result of the Spirit's work in the soul.

For each of these dear ones, then, let us ask first the blessing indeed. That God would give not the imaginary blessing, the superficial and apparent blessing, but the true spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ. That He who blessed us where we were poorest in spiritual things would grant to each a new heart and a new spirit, and take away the stony heart out of their flesh, and cause them to walk in His statutes. For the double blessing of grace and peace comes only from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, and there is no other way of salvation.

We will pray also as you have asked for safety and security and health and guidance. Health is a boon to be prized, and we may legitimately desire it, yet we must leave it with God to give what we would have according to His wisdom. Safety and security are found most surely in the hand of Him who made heaven and earth, for this intimates that the blessing is almighty in power. He who said, Let there be light, and there was light, can speak into darkness and cheer the gloom, and can bring order out of confusion. So we ask that His hand might be with each of them, to keep them from evil that it may not grieve them, and to keep them in all their ways.

And for guidance in sorting out their thoughts, we ask that the Lord would grant a new spirit within them and a clear mind stayed upon Him. In this way we may best obtain guidance from God, not by trusting our own understanding, but by seeking to be kept in that separated life where in proportion as the grace of God helps us and keeps us there, we shall be blessed and shall be made a blessing.

Let us pray together. O Lord that madest heaven and earth, bless these two souls indeed with thy heavenly blessing. Bless each one according to their need, with grace and peace, with health if it please thee, but above all with Christ formed within. Enlarge their coast for usefulness, that each may be a blessing in the place where thou hast set them. Let thine hand be with them for safety and for keeping, and keep them from evil. Grant them quietness of mind and singleness of heart, that their thoughts being established in thy truth, they may know thy will and walk therein. Grant this for Jesus sake, that to thee may be all glory.
