Disciple of Prayer
Dear Brother/Sister in Christ, I am the mother of two girls. Ten years ago, office politics caused me to lose my permanent job. Since then, I haven't had a steady job to support my family, pay for my kids' education, and pay back my debts. My spouse also has a heart condition and does not hold a permanent position. All these years, I have prayed for a permanent job. My age is 53, so I'm not sure if I get it. However, I am unsure of how to continue to live and pay for everything. Despite applying to numerous companies, I have not received a job letter. Please pray that I find a permanent job so that I can provide for my family and finish my kids' education and other necessities. Would you please pray for me? Beena. From Bangalore

We are deeply moved by your faithfulness and perseverance in prayer, sister, and we stand with you in this season of need, lifting your burdens before the Lord. Your heart for your family—your daughters’ education, your spouse’s health, and the weight of debt—is a testament to your love and responsibility. Yet we know that even in these trials, God is sovereign, and His timing is perfect. He sees your struggles, your sleepless nights, and your unwavering trust in Him, even when the answers tarry.

The Scripture reminds us in **Philippians 4:19**, *“My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”* And in **Matthew 6:31-33**, Jesus assures us, *“Don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”* Your age is not a limitation to our God, who calls Moses at eighty, gives Sarah a child in her old age, and uses the weak to shame the strong (**1 Corinthians 1:27**). He is the God of impossibilities, and if a permanent job is His will for you, no door will remain shut.

Yet we must also ask: Have you surrendered this entirely to Him, or does fear still linger in your heart? The Lord tells us in **Proverbs 3:5-6**, *“Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”* It is easy to grow weary when prayers seem unanswered, but we urge you to guard your heart against bitterness or doubt. God’s delays are not denials—they are preparations. He may be refining your faith, teaching you dependence, or even redirecting your steps to something far greater than you’ve imagined.

We also encourage you to examine whether there are areas where you may need to adjust your approach. Have you sought wisdom in how to present your skills or explored avenues beyond traditional employment? The Proverbs 31 woman is praised for her industriousness—she *“considers a field, and buys it; with the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard”* (**Proverbs 31:16**). Could God be leading you to a different path, such as entrepreneurship, freelance work, or ministry that also provides? Pray for creativity and open doors, and be willing to step out in faith if He leads.

As for your spouse’s health and employment, we claim **Isaiah 53:5** over him: *“But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.”* We pray for divine healing and strength, that his heart would be restored and that God would provide stable work for him as well. Remember, too, that debt is not your master—Christ is. **Romans 13:8** tells us to *“owe no one anything, except to love one another,”* and we pray for supernatural provision to break the chains of financial bondage in your life.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister ###, lifting her needs, her family, and her future into Your mighty hands. Lord, You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides, and we ask that You open the doors no man can shut for a **permanent, God-honoring job** that will sustain her family. Remove every obstacle—age, prejudice, or unseen opposition—and let Your favor rest upon her applications and interviews. Give her wisdom to stand out, grace to endure, and faith to trust You even in the waiting.

We pray for her spouse’s **complete healing**—touch his heart, Lord, and restore his strength. Provide stable work for him as well, that together they may glorify You in their provision. Father, we rebuked the spirit of poverty and lack in Jesus’ name, and we declare that **every debt shall be paid** as You supply supernaturally. Let ###’s daughters see Your faithfulness and grow in their own walk with You, knowing their mother’s God is their God too.

Lord, if there has been any fear, doubt, or resentment in her heart, we ask You to uproot it and replace it with **unshakable trust** in Your promises. Remind her that You are her Shepherd, and she shall lack no good thing (**Psalm 23:1**). Give her creative ideas, divine connections, and unexpected opportunities to meet her family’s needs. And if there is a lesson or a redirection in this season, open her eyes to see it and her heart to embrace it.

We thank You, Father, that **You are working all things for her good** (**Romans 8:28**), and we declare that her testimony will be one of Your miraculous provision. Strengthen her hands for the tasks ahead, and let her light shine so brightly in her workplace that others will see her good works and glorify You (**Matthew 5:16**).

In the mighty name of **Jesus Christ**, our Provider and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.

Sister, we urge you to **keep praying without ceasing** (**1 Thessalonians 5:17**) and to **praise God in advance** for the breakthrough. Share this request with your local church body as well—there is power in corporate prayer (**Matthew 18:20**). And if you have not already, we encourage you to **seek godly counsel** from mature believers who can speak into your situation with wisdom.

Lastly, we leave you with this promise: *“The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek Yahweh will not lack any good thing”* (**Psalm 34:10**). **You will not lack any good thing.** Stand firm, dear sister. Your breakthrough is coming.

Dear ###,

We've been thinking about you and your family, and we want you to know that we're standing with you in prayer. We understand the weight of your situation, the uncertainty, and the constant worry. It's been a long journey, and it's easy to feel discouraged. But remember, our God is a God who sees, who cares, and who is more than able to provide.

We're praying for a permanent job for you, one that will allow you to provide for your family, finish your daughters' education, and pay off your debts. We're asking God to open the right doors, to give you favor in interviews, and to provide supernatural wisdom and grace in this season.

We're also praying for your spouse's health and for God to provide stable work for him. We claim healing and strength over him, and we declare that every debt shall be paid as God supplies supernaturally.

We know that waiting can be hard, but we want to encourage you to keep trusting God. He sees your faithfulness, and He's working all things together for your good. Keep praying, keep seeking His face, and watch for His breakthrough.

Remember, God is your Shepherd, and you shall lack no good thing. He's got this, ###. Keep trusting, keep hoping, and keep praying. We're right there with you.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep shining, dear sister. Your breakthrough is coming.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
