Disciple of Prayer
I want to send out a prayer for the Milwaukee Brewers to win this game and the world series. Not only for themselves and the city, but for ###. Thank you.

We join you in lifting up this desire before the Lord and we hear your heart for the Milwaukee Brewers, for the city, and for the dear person on your heart you mentioned.

We understand the joy that sports can bring to a community and to families, and we know God cares about the things that matter to us. At the same time we want to gently remind you that our prayers are ultimately to align our hearts with God's will, not to simply ask Him to align with ours. We can bring every request to Him with thanksgiving, trusting His perfect wisdom and sovereignty over all things, including the outcome of a game.

The scriptures teach us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6 And also, But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 Whether the Brewers win this game and the World Series or not, we can trust that God is working for good and that our greatest joy is found in Him, not in any earthly victory. Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 and Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23 is a good word for both the players and for us as fans, that all would be done with integrity and for God's glory.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why that matters so much to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And scripture tells us, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 This is the good news that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved. Romans 10:9 We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus, and to bring your prayers to God in His name.

So together we pray.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We thank You for Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your love that endures forever. We lift up the Milwaukee Brewers, every player, coach, and staff, and the city of Milwaukee to You. We ask for Your protection over them, for good health, for sportsmanship, and that they would compete with excellence and honor. We bring this desire for a win in this game and in the World Series before You, and we ask if it be Your will, that You would grant it and allow it to be a source of wholesome joy for the team and the city and for the loved one our friend carries in their heart. Above all, let Your will be done, and help us to trust You with the outcome, giving thanks in all circumstances. We pray also for the person on our friend's heart, that You would bless them, draw them close to Yourself, meet their deepest needs, and reveal Your love to them through Christ. Help us all to find our ultimate hope not in a championship, but in Jesus. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to keep praying with a heart of trust and thanksgiving, enjoying the gift of baseball while keeping your eyes fixed on Christ, who is our true champion and our eternal victory.

We're glad you shared this prayer for the Brewers. It's clear you care about the team and about Milwaukee, and that you want this joy to be shared with ### too. That kind of city pride and wanting good for others is a good thing.

We get how a playoff run can bring neighbors, coworkers and families together. Talking baseball around town, wearing the colors, checking the score together, it is one of the simple ways a community feels like a community. It's fun to bring that enthusiasm to God and ask Him to be part of it.

While we pray, we also hold the outcome loosely, trusting God with wins and losses and finding our deeper joy in Him either way. One simple way to live this out is to enjoy the next game with someone else, whether at home or gathered with friends, and let the game be a chance to encourage and enjoy one another, win or lose. We will join you in praying for a good, safe game for players and fans on both sides.

Father, thank You for the gift of community and for the joy we find in these moments. We lift up the Brewers, the city of Milwaukee and ### to You, asking for safety and sportsmanship tonight and for Your peace over all who watch. Help us to celebrate well and to keep our hope rooted in You whatever the score. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request to bring even this matter before the throne of grace has been received with thankfulness, for it is good to acknowledge the Lord in all our ways and to remember that there is no attribute more comforting to His children than His Divine Sovereignty.

We are glad you desire to pray, for true religion is always a matter of desire, and where God begins a work He will complete it. Yet we would gently remind you, as we are taught in the Scriptures, that sovereignty has ordained our circumstances and overrules them and will sanctify them all. The Lord distributes His gifts as He wills, and under the most joyful or adverse providences we are called to trust and not to fear, saying with the Psalmist, what time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee.

It would be a small thing to make the outcome of a game the chief object of our confidence. Our greater need is to take Christ not merely as the saints Savior, but as the sinners Savior, to trust in the blood of Jesus Christ and to know that we have received mercy from Headquarters, without mistake. The Lord desires truth in the inward parts, and He would have our hearts set first upon His kingdom and His righteousness, that our joys even in earthly things may be kept in their proper place.

Therefore we will pray with you, not as those who would command the Lord, but as those who leave all affairs in His hands and are resigned to His will. We will ask that the Lord would be gracious to the players and to all who watch, that He would keep them from harm, that He would grant to the city of ### and to those you hold dear whatever is truly for their good, and that whether the victory is given to the ### or withheld, your heart and theirs may still rejoice in the greater victory which Christ has already won over sin and death. May this season, and every season, be an occasion to declare His wondrous works and to find that no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.

We join you in this prayer, submitting all to His wise and holy will:

O Lord our God, Thou art sovereign over all things, from the greatest to the least. We thank Thee for the common mercies Thou bestowest, for health and strength and the innocent enjoyments of life. We ask Thee to rule in this matter according to Thy perfect wisdom. Bless those for whom this prayer is offered, draw them to trust wholly in Thy Son, and let their deepest joy be found in Him. Grant Thy peace to this city and to every heart that seeks Thee, and cause us to trust Thee really and intensely, that we may not be afraid. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior we ask it, Amen.
