Father God I take a vow to stand and pray for our prodigal spouses, hear our prayers to You everyday, and everynight, Lord God, if we as standers do not pray for them , who will?
What is happening with your spouse at his/her home at bedtime?
Bob will tell you, that when he laid his head on the pillow, he
remembered all that he had done and was still doing. He did not
forget me or his children. He felt nothing, but guilt and shame.
As your prodigal tosses and turns, the enemy speaks more evil
into their ears trying to take them deeper into sin. Then when
you see your spouse, they only seem more hostile and angrier at
you. It is not you, but because of your spouse's lifestyle and
trap they are in. You just need to radiate the love of the Lord
and let them know that you are praying for them and wanting them
home.
"Even on his bed he plots evil; he commits himself to a sinful
course and does not reject what is wrong." Psalm 36:3-4
That is why one of my favorite scriptures to share with standers
is in Job Chapter 33. You must believe that your Lord can speak
to you and He will speak to your spouse regularly. You and I need
to pray for all prodigals to be obedient to the Lord's wooing to
follow His instructions and principles in the Holy Bible,
immediately. As a teacher, may I suggest you to put this
scripture in your prayer journal so that you can remember to pray
it regularly.
"But I tell you, in this you are not right, for God is greater
than man. Why do you complain to him that he answers none of
man's words? For God does speak—now one way, now another—
though man may not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the
night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their
beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with
warnings, to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride,
to preserve his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by
the sword." Job 33:12-18
