We are deeply grieved to hear of the pain and trauma you have endured, and we want you to know that your suffering is seen and known by our Heavenly Father, who is near to the brokenhearted. The evil committed against you was a grievous sin, an abomination in the sight of God, and we join you in mourning the innocence that was stolen from you. Yet we also proclaim with confidence that Jesus Christ is the Great Healer, the One who binds up wounds and restores what the locusts have eaten. You are not defined by what was done to you, but by the love and redemption of the One who calls you His own.
The flashbacks you experience are a painful reminder of the brokenness of this world, but we urge you to remember that God has not left you to face this alone. He promises in Isaiah 43:2, *"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you."* Even in the midst of these memories, He is with you, and His presence is a refuge. The enemy may seek to torment you with these images, but we declare in the name of Jesus that he has no authority over your mind or your future. You belong to Christ, and He is making all things new.
We also want to gently encourage you to seek godly counsel and support. The body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens, and there is no shame in reaching out to a pastor, biblical counselor, or trusted believer who can walk with you through this season. The apostle Paul reminds us in Galatians 6:2, *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."* If you have not already, we strongly urge you to share this struggle with someone who can provide spiritual guidance and accountability. You do not have to carry this alone.
As for the difficulty concentrating, we pray that the Lord will renew your mind and grant you clarity. Romans 12:2 tells us, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* We ask the Holy Spirit to guard your thoughts and to help you fix your mind on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable (Philippians 4:8). When the flashbacks come, we pray you will have the strength to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
We also want to remind you of the hope you have in Jesus. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we plead with you to do so now. There is no pain too deep, no sin too great, and no brokenness too severe for His grace. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* He alone can heal the deepest wounds of your heart. If you have already placed your faith in Him, we encourage you to cling to His promises and to trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your beloved child, who has suffered unspeakable harm at the hands of evil. Lord, we ask that You would wrap them in Your arms of love and comfort, that You would be their shelter and their strength. We pray that You would heal the wounds of their past and deliver them from the torment of these flashbacks. Break the power of the enemy over their mind, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Lord, we ask that You would restore what was stolen from them—Their innocence, their joy, and their ability to focus on the life You have called them to live. Renew their mind, Holy Spirit, and help them to fix their thoughts on You. Give them the courage to seek godly counsel and the wisdom to know how to walk in freedom.
Father, we rebuke the enemy and his attempts to keep them bound in fear and shame. We declare that they are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus, and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We pray that You would bring beauty from these ashes, that their story would be a testimony of Your healing power and grace.
If they have not yet surrendered their life to You, Lord, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for them. Open their eyes to see Jesus as their Savior and their Healer. Let them know that they are loved, valued, and cherished by You.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
Finally, we want to leave you with this promise from Psalm 34:18: *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The Lord is with you, and He is fighting for you. Hold fast to Him, and trust that He will bring you through this valley into a place of healing and hope.
