First love...

[Intercessor]

"Yet I have this against you--that you no longer love Me as you did at first" (Rev 2:4)... Please ask God to warm my heart toward Him. I would like to receive His love & love Him back with all my heart, soul, mind, strength & decisions. Please ask Him to keep His hedge of protection about me. I ask I could hide His Word in my heart so that I might not sin against Him. I also ask for health and basic provision so I can serve Him more effectively. Wisdom, fruit of the Spirit, gifts, insight, revelation knowledge & discernment. Grace to pray, fast, study, preach & teach. I ask I would stir others to love God as He deserves to be loved. Thank you in Jesus' Name.

I once read that the fact that we understand the limit of our ability to love our God sufficiently, is indeed proof that we love him. The mere fact we pray for the ability to love him more means we do love him very much. I think it was Author Pink that said that, and it is very paraphrased indeed! It is simple yet true and gave me great comfort. God knows you love him. Father I ask that you give Intercessor good health and provision, I know that you have promised us these things and that you are always faithful to provide them. God I ask that you give our dear friend wisdom, and strength, give him revelation and the ability to preach your word in a way it will reach our hearts and minds. Father shine the light on him and reveal your truth though him. Thank you for your goodness and mercy. I ask these things for your glory in Jesus name.

Father God, I not only pray that You would honor the petitions of Doug's prayer, but that You would spurn each of us to want the same. May we always be striving to love You more, serve You better, believe You without doubting. Grant us Your mighty power to grow and learn through Your word, Christian fellowship, hope, patience and love.

Make us better God, in all ways that You see fit - help us be the examples of Your sovereign kingdom that we were intended to be. Walk with Doug each day, grant him Your presence and leading, I pray. In Jesus' name, Amen.
