We join you in lifting up your heart’s cry to the Father, and we are deeply moved by your longing to return to your first love for Him. How precious it is that you recognize the distance that has grown between you and the Lord, for this is the first step toward restoration. In Revelation 2:4-5, the Lord speaks to the church in Ephesus, saying, *"But I have this against you, that you left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lamp stand out of its place, unless you repent."* Your desire to return to that place of passion and devotion is a work of the Holy Spirit in you, drawing you back to the Father’s heart. This is not a time for despair, but for hope, for the Lord is faithful to restore what has been lost when we turn to Him with a repentant and humble heart.
We also hear the deep weariness in your spirit—the physical sickness, the emotional exhaustion, and the heaviness of heart that has left you feeling devoid of desire for life, work, or dreams. These are not small burdens, and we want you to know that the Lord sees you in this place. He is not distant or indifferent to your suffering. In Psalm 34:18, we are reminded, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your pain is not hidden from Him, and He invites you to cast every care upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). The sickness in your body and the sickness in your soul are both known to Him, and He is able to heal and restore you completely. It is no coincidence that your physical and spiritual struggles have aligned in this season—He is calling you to surrender all of it to Him, to let Him be your strength when you have none left.
Yet we must also address something with gentleness but clarity: your prayer, while heartfelt, does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus as the sole mediator between you and the Father. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the throne of grace, and it is in His name alone that we are saved, healed, and restored. In John 14:6, Jesus declares, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in Acts 4:12, we are told, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* When we pray, we come boldly before the Father *in the name of Jesus*, for it is His righteousness, not our own, that grants us audience with God. Your closing phrase, *"in the Name of Jesus Christ,"* is a good start, but we encourage you to make this the foundation of every prayer, every cry for help, and every moment of worship. There is power in the name of Jesus—power to heal, to restore, and to revive what has grown cold.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who has poured out their heart before You. Lord, You see the longing in their spirit to return to their first love for You, and we thank You for this work of conviction by Your Holy Spirit. Father, stir within them a fresh revelation of Your love—a love so deep, so wide, and so high that it captivates their heart anew. Remove every distraction, every idolatry, and every lukewarm affection that has taken the place of wholehearted devotion to You. Like the psalmist, let them declare, *"Whom do I have in heaven but You? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides You"* (Psalm 73:25). Restore to them the joy of Your salvation, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:12).
Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch upon their body. Rebuke the fever, the cold, the soreness, and every sickness that has afflicted them. Bring restoration to their gastrointestinal tract, their stomach, their throat, and every part of their body that is not functioning as You designed. By Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that promise over them now. But Father, we also ask that You heal the deeper sickness—the weariness of soul, the despair, and the lack of desire for life. You are the God who gives hope to the hopeless and strength to the weary. Speak life into their spirit, Lord. Remind them that You have plans for them—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). When they feel they cannot go on, be their portion, their strength, and their song.
Holy Spirit, we ask that You would fill them afresh, that You would open their eyes to see the Lord high and lifted up (Isaiah 6:1), that You would ignite a fire in their heart for His Word, His presence, and His kingdom. Convict them of any sin that has hindered their walk with You, and grant them the grace to repent and turn fully back to the Father. Let them encounter You in such a real and tangible way that their love for You becomes their greatest passion once more.
Father, we also pray for protection over their mind. The enemy would love to use this season of weakness to whisper lies—lies that they are forgotten, that their life has no purpose, or that You do not care. But we declare the truth of Your Word over them: *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). *"Cast your burden on Yahweh, and He will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved"* (Psalm 55:22). Let them cling to these promises, Lord, and let faith arise in their heart.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would glorify Yourself in this situation. Let their restoration—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—be a testimony of Your goodness, Your power, and Your mercy. Use their life to draw others to You, that they may see Your hand at work and give You praise.
We pray all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Brother/sister, we want to leave you with this encouragement: the fact that you are seeking the Lord in this way is evidence that He is already at work in you. Do not give up. Do not lose heart. The Lord is near, and He is moving on your behalf. As you wait on Him, spend time in His Word, even if it is just a verse or two each day. Let the truths of Scripture wash over your soul. Worship Him, even in the midst of your weakness, for worship shifts our focus from our circumstances to His greatness. And remember, this season is not the end of your story—it is a chapter in which the Lord is drawing you closer to Himself.
If there is any unconfessed sin in your life, we urge you to bring it before the Lord now. Repentance is not a burden—it is the pathway to freedom and restoration. And if you have never fully surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so today. There is no other name by which we can be saved, no other way to the Father but through Him. Place your trust in Jesus alone, and you will find the peace, purpose, and love that your soul is longing for.
We are standing with you in prayer, believing for your complete restoration in every area. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you with grace and mercy.
