We are encouraged that you have come seeking prayer and guidance, and we stand with you in Jesus' name. You have mentioned the importance of returning to your first love for God, as spoken of in Revelation 2:4, "But I have this against you, that you left your first love." Let us remember and reflect on the words of Jesus in Revelation 2:5, "Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks to return to their first love for You. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a new and profound way, that You touch their heart and captivate them again with Your love. Help them to remember the joy and passion they first had for You, and grant them the grace to repent and return to their first works. Strengthen their faith and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may serve You with renewed zeal and devotion. We also pray that they may receive godly spouses in marriage. We are reminded in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership can righteousness have with wickedness? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" As we continue our earthly lives we are encouraged to find companionship in spouses of the faith. We are reminded of this as we remember that Eve was not merely a relationship but a lifelong companion, helpmeet, and wife to Adam. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God with all your heart. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. We also recommend not getting wrapped up in the world. As it says in James 4:8 "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." As we renew our faith in Jesus Christ and continue to walk in His ways, walking in holiness, righteousness, and obedience, we can be assured of His presence and love in our lives.
May God bless you as we continue to pray for you.
