We join you in praying that our Heavenly Father will indeed help you return to your first love for God, as mentioned in Revelation 2:4, "But I have this against you, that you left your first love." It is beautiful to see your desire to be drawn closer to Him, and we are grateful to be able to intercede on your behalf.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks to return to their first love for You. Father, we ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a new and profound way, that You touch their heart and captivate them again with Your love. Stir their affection for You, Lord, and let them taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8).
Father, we ask that You forgive them for any time they may have taken their eyes off You and others. You alone are worthy of our devotion and worship. Please help them understand and appreciate what You did for them on the cross. Remind them of Your unfailing love and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for their sins. We know that the godly sorrow will bring repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. (2 Corinthians 7:10). We pray that You will grant them a spirit of repentance and a heart that longs to obey You. We also pray that they will call to memory all the things that they did at first (Revelation 2:5) and repent and do the things they did at first.
We also pray against enemy's attacks trying to stop them from loving You with all their heart, all their soul, all their mind, and all their strength. (Mark 12:30) and loving their neighbor as themselves. (Mark 12:31) We pray that they will not be distracted by the things of this world but fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)
Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and Your promise that nothing can separate us from Your love (Romans 8:38-39). We ask that You will bless our brother/sister and reward them for their desire to draw near to You. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God with all your heart. Remember the words of Jeremiah 29:13, "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart." Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). It is our prayer that you will be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, (Colossians 1:9) that you may walk worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
