We're here with you, dear friend, in this journey to rekindle your first love for God. It's beautiful to see your heart yearning for that initial passion and joy you once felt. Let's remind ourselves of the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). He left his father's house, but when he returned, his father welcomed him with open arms, saying, "For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found." (Luke 15:24 ESV)
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our ### who desires to return to their first love for You. Father, we ask that You would meet them at the end of their journey, just as the prodigal son's father did. Help them to feel Your overwhelming love and acceptance. Touch their heart, remind them of the joy they once knew, and captivate them once again with Your love.
Lord, grant them the grace to turn away from anything that has pulled their focus away from You. Help them to remember the first works they did when their love for You was fresh and new. Give them the strength to walk in that love again, and to grow even deeper in their relationship with You.
We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
As they take these steps, let's encourage them with the words of Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV): "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." God's love is constant, and His compassion is renewed every day. He is waiting with open arms, ready to welcome them back with love and joy.
Let's continue to uplift them in prayer, and let's also encourage them to spend time in God's presence, reading His Word, and seeking His face. May they find the strength and courage they need to rekindle their first love for God.
