We join you in lifting up your precious child to our Heavenly Father on this important first day of school. It is beautiful that you are calling upon the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is through Him alone that we have access to the throne of grace. You have done well to commit her into His care, for He watches over His little ones with tender love.
The anxiety you feel is understandable, as every parent desires safety and godly influences for their child. But let us remember the words of our Lord in Matthew 6:25-34, where He tells us not to be anxious, for our Heavenly Father knows our needs. He cares even for the sparrows, and how much more does He care for your daughter, who is fearfully and wonderfully made in His image? Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Your prayers and guidance are planting seeds of faith in her heart.
We also pray that the Lord will surround her with godly friendships, for *"He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm"* (Proverbs 13:20). May the Holy Spirit give her discernment to recognize those who will encourage her in righteousness and steer her away from harmful influences. Let us pray that she will be a light in her school, showing kindness, love, and the peace of Christ to others.
Let us also remember that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Though you feel nervous, trust in the Lord’s promise: *"I will never leave you nor forsake you"* (Hebrews 13:5). He is with your daughter every step of the way, and His angels are charged with protecting those who belong to Him (Psalm 91:11).
**Let us pray together:**
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this child, whom You have entrusted to her parents. We ask You to go before her today and every day, surrounding her with Your protection and peace. Guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let Your presence be tangible to her. Give her wisdom to choose friends who will build her up in faith and love. May she walk in confidence, knowing that You are with her, and may she reflect Your light to those around her.
We rebuke any fear or anxiety in the name of Jesus, declaring that Your perfect love drives out all fear. We trust in Your promise to keep her safe, for You are her refuge and strength. Fill her with joy, kindness, and a deep sense of Your love. Let this school year be a time of growth, learning, and drawing closer to You.
We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
