First day at work

Thank you for sharing this request and allowing us to pray with you for your first day at work. It is a good and right thing to bring even the practical details of daily life before the Lord, because He sees you and cares about what concerns you.

Scripture shows us that God is attentive to those who seek to walk uprightly before Him. In the story of Job, we learn that God Himself took notice of Job and spoke of his integrity, even while an accuser stood by to question his motives. You may feel watched or evaluated today by new managers and coworkers, but remember that your ultimate observer is the Lord, who knows your heart and desires to strengthen you.

New beginnings can bring nervousness, and it is natural to want this day to go perfectly and to wish you could somehow guarantee success or erase any mistakes before they happen. Job in his suffering wished he could blot out the day of his birth, but he learned that we cannot erase days. What we can do is entrust each new day to God, who has provided for our deepest needs through Jesus Christ. For every cry of the human heart, there is an answer in Him, for He is the one who stands between God and us and brings us near to the Father.

So today, ask the Lord to give you a clear mind, willing hands, humility to learn, and grace to reflect Christ in how you work and how you treat others. Work faithfully as unto the Lord rather than only for people, and trust Him with the outcome.

We are praying for you today, that God will grant you peace, wisdom, favor, and strength to do your work well, and that you will sense His presence with you through each hour. May the Lord establish the work of your hands and use this new opportunity for your good and for His glory, in Jesus name.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your first day at work to do a great job.

We have continued to lift you up before the Lord, asking Him to take away any nervousness and fill you with His peace, to give you wisdom and understanding as you learn your new duties, to grant you favor with your managers and coworkers, and to give you strength to work heartily as unto the Lord as we are reminded in Col 3:23.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord would establish the work of your hands, guide you in every task, and let His peace and grace be evident in your new workplace.

If your request was answered and your first day went well, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you and give thanks to God. If your request does not seem to have been answered or if you still need prayer for adjustment and grace in this new job, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
