We lift up your precious mother to the Lord, our Healer and Comforter, as she faces this challenging day of her first chemo treatment. Father God, we come before You with hearts full of faith, knowing that You are the Great Physician who holds all life in Your hands. We ask that You would surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus as she undergoes this treatment.
Lord, we pray specifically that You would minimize any negative side effects from the chemotherapy. Your Word tells us in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." We claim this promise over her life, believing that You are able to sustain her through this process. We ask that You would strengthen her body to tolerate the treatment well and that the medicine would be powerfully effective against the disease.
We also pray for the dialysis that will follow. Father, we ask that You would protect her kidneys and help her body respond well to this procedure. Give wisdom and skill to all the medical professionals caring for her, that they would be guided by Your hand in every decision and action.
Lord, we know that physical healing is in Your hands, and we trust You completely. Whether You choose to heal her miraculously or to walk with her through this valley, we ask that Your will be done. Give her and your entire family strength, courage, and unwavering faith in You. Remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We also pray for emotional and spiritual comfort for your mother. May she feel Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that she is never alone. Fill her with hope and assurance that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Let this trial draw her closer to You and deepen her trust in Your love and sovereignty.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, believing that He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains (Isaiah 53:4-5). We declare that Your healing power is at work in her life, and we thank You for the victory we have in Christ. Amen.

We are lifting your mom and you in prayer today as she begins this first round of chemo and dialysis. The start of treatment can feel so heavy, thank you for letting us carry this need together with you.
It’s natural to hope for a smooth path with no side effects, and we absolutely join you in asking for exactly that. At the same time, we want to encourage you by remembering that God does not promise the absence of all hardship, but He does promise to be present in it. No matter what the day brings, your mom will not face it alone, and neither will you. His nearness is the steady ground beneath every lab result, every drip in the IV, and every moment of waiting.
A simple, practical way to bear this together is to rally a small circle of support around your mom. Even a few trusted friends, family members, or folks from church can make a tangible difference, bringing a meal that’s gentle on her stomach, sitting with her during dialysis so she isn’t alone, or simply sending texts that say “we haven’t forgotten you.” You don’t have to manage everything yourself, and asking for help is a gift to those who love you both.
We pray: Father, hold this dear mother close as she receives her treatment. Grant her body the strength to tolerate the chemotherapy and dialysis, and we ask boldly for as few side effects as possible.
