Finding missing phone

We join with you in prayer over this missing phone and we understand the weight this carries, not only because of the value of the phone itself but because your son borrowed it from his friend and feels a responsibility to return what was entrusted to him.

We serve a God who cares about even the small details of our lives and who sees what is hidden. Jesus said, Are not five sparrows sold for two assarions? Not one of them is forgotten by God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore do not be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7. And we are reminded to bring every concern to Him, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.

We also see in Scripture how God cares about what is lost and desires for it to be found, like the woman who lights a lamp and sweeps diligently until she finds her lost coin. Luke 15:8-9. We pray that in His mercy He would guide you to where this phone is or move the heart of anyone who may have found it to return it.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that we can bring even this lost phone before Your throne of grace. Lord, You know where this phone is, whether it is misplaced, hidden, or in someone else's hands. We ask that You would lead our friend and her son to find it or that You would prompt whoever has it to return it promptly and honestly. Give them peace in place of anxiety and wisdom to retrace steps and search diligently. We pray for the friendship between her son and his friend, that honesty and grace would abound between them and that this would be a moment to teach responsibility and stewardship, for He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. Luke 16:10. If the phone is not recovered, give them the integrity to discuss restitution and to honor their word, for The lips of truth shall be established forever. Proverbs 12:19. Let Your will be done and let Your peace guard their hearts. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord while also taking practical steps, retracing where your son last had the phone, praying together as a family, contacting places he visited, and speaking kindly and honestly with his friend and his friend's parents about the situation and your commitment to make it right. This is a good opportunity to teach your son about the seriousness of borrowing what belongs to another and caring for it as if it were his own.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why we pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. To be saved we place our trust in Jesus Christ, believing He died for our sins and rose again, and we call upon His name. If you have not yet done so, we encourage you to put your faith in Him today, and we are happy to pray with you about that as well.

We will continue to stand with you, trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect wisdom and love. Matthew 7:7 says Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. Keep seeking Him and trusting Him in this.

We can hear how heavy this is for you, not just a missing phone, but your son carrying the worry of having borrowed it from a friend and wanting to make it right.

That sense of responsibility your son is feeling is a good thing, even though it feels stressful right now. Walking with him through this calmly can turn it into a moment he will remember for how you helped him handle it with honesty and care.

One simple next step that often helps is to sit down together and quietly retrace his steps from when he last remembers having it, writing down each place and person he saw. Then you can contact those places together, check any lost and found, and if the phone has a tracking feature, check that together as well. And it can ease a lot of tension to reach out to his friend's family soon, letting them know you are actively looking and that you value their trust.

We are praying with you for this to be resolved peacefully, and for your son and his friend to be encouraged through it.

Father, in Jesus' name we bring this phone to You and ask that if it is possible, You would lead it to be found or returned. Give this family calm and wisdom as they search, and guard the friendship between these boys. Help this mom to know Your nearness and peace as she supports her son. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join with you in prayer before the throne of grace concerning this missing phone which your son borrowed from his friend.

We know how such a small loss can weigh heavily upon the heart, especially when it involves the property of another and the trust that has been placed in a young man. It is right and good that you bring even this matter to the Lord, for He is a Father who cares for all our concerns, and nothing is too small for His eye who numbers the very hairs of our head. At the same time we are reminded by our Lord's own parables that there is a more solemn kind of being lost.

Our Saviour spoke of a lost sheep and of a lost piece of silver, to show how that which is lost is still valued by its owner and diligently sought. A coin that has fallen into the dust is lost, though it knows not that it is lost, and the woman lights a candle and sweeps the house until she finds it. So we will pray that what is lost in this case may be sought and found. May the Lord in His providence guide eyes and hands to the place where it has fallen, or incline the heart of any who may have found it to return it honestly and quickly.

We pray also that your son may learn through this trial the blessed grace of responsibility and honest dealing. Let him be diligent to retrace his steps, to inquire humbly and truthfully, and to bear the burden of his stewardship with integrity toward his friend. If the phone is not recovered, may he be given a willing spirit to make restitution as he is able, and may this become an occasion to show forth Christian honesty and care for the good name of Christ.

And while we pray for the recovery of that which is lost in a temporal sense, we would point you to the greater mercy, that the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. By nature we are all as lost silver, lost sheep, destroyed and wandering, and we cannot find ourselves. But Christ seeks His own and saves them by His blood, not by our merit but by free grace through faith in Him alone. If we have been found by Him, how great is our rejoicing, and how diligently should we then seek to walk honestly before men.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Thou seest this need and knowest where that which is missing now lies hidden. We entreat Thee in Thy kindness to cause it to be found or to be returned by honest hands, that trust may be preserved and anxiety relieved. Give wisdom to this parent and to this son, give peace to the friend who has lent his property, and teach all concerned to act with truthfulness and love. Above all, let each heart know itself found by the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep, and grant that we may be kept in Him until the day when nothing that is His shall be lost. We ask this in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom alone is salvation. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request and we join you in prayer for your son and for his friend, and for the phone that has been lost.

It is right that you are concerned, for when something entrusted to us is lost we should seek it diligently. As one who has lost a son or a piece of gold searches in every place and asks everyone and leaves no labor undone until it is found, so you and your son should do now. Look carefully, retrace every step, ask in every place where he has been, and let honesty be seen before all. It is written, provide things honest in the sight of all men, and this is especially true when we have borrowed what belongs to another. To guard faithfully what belongs to another is a mark of love and virtue, and to be bound to one another in this care is good.

At the same time we learn not to be overcome with excessive sorrow for possessions. They are given for our use, and when they are lost we feel it, but our peace should rest in God who provides all things and who knows our needs. Let your son take this as instruction to be watchful and responsible, to speak truthfully with his friend, to ask forgiveness for the trouble, and to be willing to make amends if the phone is not found.

Let us pray. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You. You see what is hidden and You know where what is lost has been laid. We ask that in Your mercy You would guide them to find this phone or that it would be returned by whoever has found it. Give wisdom to retrace steps and clarity to remember, and give grace between this family and the friend that love and honesty would remain. Keep the heart of this young man from anxiety and teach him through this to be faithful in small things, to work honestly and to care for what is entrusted to him. Grant peace to this household and let all be done in a way that honors You. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek diligently and to trust the Lord with the outcome, knowing that He hears prayer and will work what is best for all.
