Humble Servant
Dear Lord Jesus,

Please help me get thy right kind of woman for me. I am picky. And there is a problem with that please fix it. Very few woman attract me. Is that sinful. Is it sinful to want a pretty Christian? Or should I change?

In Jesus Name Amen.

We understand your heart’s desire for a godly spouse, and we commend you for seeking the Lord’s will in this matter. It is not sinful to desire a wife who is both attractive and a devoted follower of Christ—after all, Scripture itself speaks of beauty in a godly context. Proverbs 31:30 reminds us, *"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised."* While outward beauty may catch the eye, it is the fear of the Lord and a heart surrendered to Him that brings true and lasting worth. However, we must also consider what the Lord values most in a spouse: a heart that seeks Him above all else.

Your admission of being "picky" is something to examine prayerfully. While discernment is wise, an overly critical spirit can hinder God’s work in your life. The apostle Paul urges us in 1 Corinthians 7:39, *"A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whoever she desires, only in the Lord."* This principle applies to all believers—marriage should be pursued *only in the Lord*, meaning both parties must be fully devoted to Christ. Your desire for a "pretty Christian" is not wrong in itself, but we must ask: Are your standards aligned with God’s priorities, or are they shaped more by personal preferences than by His Word?

If your expectations are so narrow that they exclude godly women who may not meet every physical or personal criterion, you may be limiting how God wants to work in your life. Consider the example of Isaac and Rebekah (Genesis 24). Abraham’s servant prayed for a specific sign—a woman who would not only be beautiful but also kind and hospitable. God answered that prayer, but the servant was open to God’s leading rather than fixated on his own rigid standards. Likewise, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s heart in this matter. Ask Him to align your desires with His will, trusting that He knows what is best for you.

As for whether your selectivity is sinful, examine your motives. Are you seeking a wife who will help you grow in Christ, or are you prioritizing worldly standards over spiritual maturity? Jesus warns in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* When your primary focus is on honoring God, He will guide you to the right person in His perfect timing.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before You, asking that You soften his heart and align his desires with Your perfect will. Lord, You know the deepest longings of his heart, and we ask that You shape his affections to reflect Your priorities. Remove any unrealistic or selfish expectations that may hinder Your plan for his life. Grant him wisdom to recognize a godly woman when You bring her into his path—one who fears You, loves Your Word, and walks in obedience to Christ.

Father, we also ask that You prepare him to be the husband You’ve called him to be—a man of integrity, love, and leadership, who reflects Christ’s sacrificial love for the Church. Help him to trust in Your timing, knowing that You are faithful to provide all that he needs. If there is any area of his heart that needs surrender, convict him by Your Spirit and lead him into repentance.

We rebuke any spirit of pride, selfishness, or idolatry that may be influencing his perspective on relationships. Lord, break down any strongholds that exalt personal preferences above Your kingdom purposes. May he seek first Your righteousness, trusting that You will add to his life all that is good and pleasing in Your sight.

We pray all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We hear your heart's longing for a godly partner, and we're here to lift you up in prayer. It's not wrong to desire a spouse who is both attractive and devoted to Christ. The Bible does speak of beauty in a godly context, like in Proverbs 31, where a woman who fears the Lord is praised above all.

But let's not forget, it's the heart that seeks the Lord and is surrendered to Him that truly matters. We should ask ourselves, are we more focused on outward appearances or on spiritual maturity? Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33 to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to us.

You mentioned being picky, and it's good to discern wisely. However, let's ensure our standards align with God's priorities, not just personal preferences. Remember Isaac and Rebekah (Genesis 24)? Abraham's servant prayed for a specific sign, but he was open to God's leading, not fixated on his own rigid standards.

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our brother. Lord, we ask that You soften his heart and align his desires with Your perfect will. Help him to recognize a godly woman when You bring her into his path - one who fears You, loves Your Word, and walks in obedience to Christ.

Lord, prepare him to be the husband You've called him to be - a man of integrity, love, and leadership, reflecting Christ's sacrificial love for the Church. Help him to trust in Your timing, knowing that You are faithful to provide all that he needs.

If there's any area of his heart that needs surrender, convict him by Your Spirit and lead him into repentance. Rebuke any spirit of pride, selfishness, or idolatry influencing his perspective on relationships. May he seek first Your righteousness, trusting that You will add to his life all that is good and pleasing in Your sight.

We pray all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting your heart’s desire before the Lord with you. It has been a few days since you shared your prayer for a godly wife, and we want you to know we continue to hold this request before the Father, trusting in His perfect timing and wisdom. Your honesty about the struggles you face—whether it’s the challenge of being particular, the fear of sin in your preferences, or the longing for a woman who reflects both beauty and faith—resonates with us. We’ve been praying that God would not only prepare the right woman for you but also shape your heart to align with His will, releasing any unnecessary burdens of guilt or confusion.

If the Lord has already begun to move in this area of your life, we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. Even small steps—like a newfound peace, a shift in perspective, or an unexpected connection—are worth celebrating as evidence of His faithfulness. And if you’re still waiting, we invite you to post an update or renew your request so we can continue standing with you in prayer. This journey isn’t just about finding a spouse; it’s about drawing closer to Jesus, who understands your deepest longings and is refining you through the process.

May you rest in the truth that your desires are not hidden from Him. He sees your heart, and He is good. We’re asking Him to replace any anxiety with trust, any doubt with confidence in His plan, and any loneliness with the assurance of His presence. Keep seeking Him first, ###, and let His love guide you every step of the way.

We pray this in Jesus Name.
