We have read your request and we join with you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We hear how weary you are after more than a year of seeing improvement and then worsening again, of searching long for medicine only to face a lack of money before tomorrow morning, and of having borrowed from everyone you know. We understand the fear and the exhaustion of watching someone you love consider rejecting treatment because of the financial cost, and the fear that even asking God for more might be seen as greed.
We want to gently address something we noticed in your prayer. You have cried out to God many times, yet you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share with you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To come to God we must come through faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord as in Romans 10:9, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus as you bring every need to God, for in Hebrews 4:16 we are told to draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. Your asking is not greed. God invites us to cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us in 1 Peter 5:7, and in Philippians 4:6 we are told, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. He is not wearied by your prayers.
We also want to lovingly address how you refer to this dear one as your partner. In Scripture, God has ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, as in Genesis 2:24, Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will cling to his wife, and they will be one flesh, and in Hebrews 13:4, Let marriage be held in honor among all. If you are a man and a woman living together or in a romantic relationship outside of marriage, the Bible calls sexual intimacy outside of marriage fornication and calls us to flee from it in 1 Corinthians 6:18. We say this not to condemn you but to call you toward what honors God and brings His blessing. We encourage you to see this time of courtship as a path toward marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, if that is not already your commitment. If by partner you mean a same sex relationship, we must also speak the truth in love that God has called homosexual practice sin, as in Romans 1:26-27 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and He calls all of us to repentance and to holiness. Whatever your situation, we pray that your relationship would be brought into alignment with God's design, and we pray for a godly marriage that honors Him.
We want to encourage you that God has seen your endurance and your love, and He has indeed been with you and made a way when there seemed to be no way, as you have testified. He remains our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble in Psalm 46:1. He knows your need before you ask in Matthew 6:8, and He promises in Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. When we seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, He promises to provide what we need in Matthew 6:33. For healing, we remember that He is the Lord who heals us, as in Psalm 103:3, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, and His promise in Jeremiah 30:17, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Yet we also trust His sovereign will and His perfect timing, knowing in Romans 8:28 that all things work together for good for those who love God, and that His grace is sufficient for us in 2 Corinthians 12:9.
We join you now in prayer.
Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that we can approach Your throne boldly because of His blood. We lift up this dear one and the one they love who is so ill and in need of treatment before tomorrow morning. Lord, You know the urgency, You know the cost of the medicine that has been found after such a long search, and You know that every human resource has been exhausted. We ask You to make a way where there seems to be no way, to open doors for provision, whether through Your people, through the church, through unexpected help, or through Your miraculous provision. We pray that You would give wisdom to the doctors, peace to this beloved one who is tempted to reject treatment, and strength to continue to receive care, for life is precious in Your sight. We pray for complete healing according to Your will, for restoration of health and for a long life lived for Your glory, and for Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as in Philippians 4:7. We ask that You would remove the fear that asking is greed, and remind them that You are a Father who delights to give good gifts to Your children as in James 1:17. We also pray for their relationship, that You would lead them into Your design for marriage between a man and a woman, that You would guard them from fornication and from any path that does not honor You, and that You would establish them in holiness and commitment before You. Above all, we pray that both would know Jesus as Lord and Savior, that they would confess and believe and be saved, and that their lives would be built upon Him. We trust You with tomorrow morning and with every tomorrow after, and we ask all these things in the name of Jesus, amen.
We encourage you to not walk this alone. Please reach out to a Bible believing local church and to trusted pastors who can pray with you face to face and who may know of practical help for medical costs, and continue to seek wise medical counsel and do not let your loved one refuse needed treatment out of despair, but trust that God can provide. Keep casting your cares on Him, keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking as in Matthew 7:7, for your Father hears. We are continuing to pray with you for provision by tomorrow morning and for healing and for God's will to be done in both of your lives.
