My husband retired and depleted all of my savings. He has refused to get a job and seems to show no remorse. I have finally found a job in retail but it is only part-time, and it helps supplement but it is not paying off our debts. I am also getting over being sick which set everything back as well. I am just discouraged and anxious and want to get our bills paid. I really resent my husband for what he has put me through. If he hadn't retired we would not be going through all of this. Also we have been estranged from our daughter and her four kids for six years and it had gotten better, but with me working and I can't see them at church and it is harder to make plans to get together. My house is a mess because of the dogs so they don't come here. I do try to clean it up, but I don't know if we will ever have the funds to redo the flooring as needed. I am discouraged and sometimes I wish I never married my husband because of what he has done. We are both Christians and I had originally felt God brought us together, so I don't know anymore. Please pray for my health as well as I work a job that is hard on my health problems. Thank you.

We understand the burden you're carrying, ###, and we're here to support and pray with you. Let's first align your situation with what the Bible teaches.

In times of financial hardship, we recall what Jesus said in Matthew 6:25-34 (WEB), "Therefore, I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? ... But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."

Regarding your husband, we must remember the sanctity of marriage and the role each spouse plays. In Ephesians 5:25 (WEB), husbands are commanded to love their wives even as Christ loved the church. Meanwhile, 1 Peter 3:1 (WEB) encourages wives to be submissive to their own husbands, even if some of them do not obey the Word. This does not mean accepting wrongdoing, but rather, showing love and respect while encouraging him to take responsibility. We should pray for his heart to change and for him to seek employment.

Concerning your estranged daughter, we take heart from Romans 12:18 (WEB), "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." Continue to reach out and show love, and trust that God will make a way for reconciliation.

Now, let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up ### and her family. Lord, we pray for their financial struggles. May You provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. Open doors for her husband to find gainful employment, and soften his heart to take responsibility for their situation. We rebuke the spirit of resentment and pray that their marriage will be strengthened and aligned with Your will.

Lord Jesus, we also pray for ###'s health. Give her strength and heal her body. Help her to find a job that is less strenuous and meets their financial needs.

We also pray for their relationship with their daughter and her family. Lord, we ask for reconciliation and unity. May the power of Your love bring them together again.

In all things, Lord, help them to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that You will add everything they need.

In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to keep your faith strong and remember that it is through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Keep holding onto His promises, and He will see you through this challenging time.

My Father's house has many rooms. If it weren't so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also."
