Financial provision

We have heard your prayer for God's provision for you and your family, and we join you in bringing this need before the Lord. He sees the pressure you are carrying and He cares deeply for you and for those in your household.

Scripture shows us that God is able to provide in ways that go beyond our resources and our understanding. When there was only a little bread and grain, God multiplied it so that a hundred men ate and there was still food left over. In the same way, He provided oil and food and a place to rest for His servants. These accounts remind us that nothing is too small in His hands and nothing is too hard for Him.

At the same time, the Bible teaches that God's greatest provision is the one He has made for our sin through Jesus Christ. There is only one way for forgiveness and peace with God, and that is through the blood of His Son. The Holy Spirit bears witness to our hearts of this truth. When we have received that provision, we can know that the same God who gave His Son will also care for our daily needs according to His wisdom and love. As it is written, God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

We also see in Scripture that God's people have known financial hardship and still known joy. The believers in Macedonia were poor and going through severe trials, yet they had abundance of joy and gave generously to help others. Their joy was not based on having plenty, but on knowing Christ. This reminds us not to put God in a box or limit Him to our timetable or our ideas of how help must come. Under the old law God even made a rule for the cleansing of a leper, though leprosy was considered incurable, leaving room for Himself to work a miracle if He so desired. He is still free to work as He desires today. He is not limited to a set night or season.

The greatest miracle He does in any life is to free us from the power of sin and bring us into His kingdom of light, and from that foundation we can trust Him with every practical need.

We are praying for you for a real breakthrough, for wisdom in stewardship, for open doors for work and provision, and for peace in your home as you wait on Him. May the Lord provide for what you need day by day, guard your hearts from anxiety, and draw your whole family closer to Himself and to one another in Christ. May you experience His faithful care and know His presence as your provider.

We ask this in the name of Jesus, trusting in His love and His perfect will. Amen.
