We come before the Lord with you in this time of need, lifting up your concerns about provision, employment, and the burdens you carry for your family. First, we must address something important: you mention a "partner," but Scripture is clear that marriage is the only God-honoring relationship between a man and a woman, established as a lifelong covenant before Him. If you are not married to this man, we urge you to seek the Lord’s will for your lives, as living together outside of marriage is not aligned with His design (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 7:2). If you are married, we encourage you to refer to him as your husband, honoring the covenant God has established. Marriage is a sacred bond, and we pray that if this relationship is not yet a marriage, you would seek God’s guidance to either pursue a godly marriage or separate in a way that honors Him.
We also notice that your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we are saved or through which our prayers are heard (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life. Believe in Him, repent of your sins, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10).
Now, let us pray together for your situation. We ask the Lord to stir a godly desire in this man’s heart to seek employment and to be a provider, as Scripture calls men to work and provide for their households (1 Timothy 5:8, 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12). Laziness and idleness are not pleasing to the Lord, and we pray that conviction would fall upon him to take responsibility and seek work diligently. May the Lord open doors for him to find meaningful employment, and may he walk in obedience to God’s call on his life.
For you, we pray that the Lord would provide abundantly for your needs and the needs of your parents. You have shown great diligence in seeking a second job, and we ask the Lord to bless your efforts and open the right doors for you. Remember that our Heavenly Father knows your needs before you ask (Matthew 6:8), and He is faithful to provide for His children. Trust in Him, and do not be anxious, for He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
We also encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in managing the resources you have. Sometimes, the Lord calls us to steward what we have been given wisely, and He may reveal areas where you can adjust or trust Him more fully. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Finally, we pray that you would find peace in the Lord, knowing that He is your Provider and your Strength. Do not let worry overwhelm you, but cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). May you experience His peace that surpasses all understanding as you trust in Him (Philippians 4:6-7).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister and her family. Lord, we ask that You would convict and stir the heart of this man to seek employment and to walk in responsibility and diligence. Open doors for him to find work, and may he turn to You for strength and guidance. For our sister, we pray for financial provision—open doors for a second job, provide for her parents, and meet every need according to Your glorious riches. Give her wisdom to steward what she has been given and peace to trust in You fully. Lord, we also pray that if this relationship is not a marriage, You would bring clarity and conviction to align it with Your will. Draw both of their hearts to You, and may they seek You above all else. We ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
