Your anguish is real, and what was done to you is evil. When people use deceit to plunder a neighbor, they imagine they can hide their cruelty, but the Lord sees. “They intended evil against you; they devised a scheme they cannot carry out.” God will not ignore the cries of the oppressed. Pray that the scammers would be brought to repentance and that they would stop destroying others, but leave ultimate justice in His hands. Your dignity is not in recovered savings; it is in being known by the God who made you.

Right now the weight of that empty account feels suffocating, and I am not minimizing your fear. Yet the Shepherd who leads you knows how to provide for His sheep. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” He makes you lie down in green pastures even when the world looks barren. He restores your soul. That is not a promise that every lost coin will be returned in this life, but that He Himself will be your refreshment and your strength. Hold loosely to what you once had, because a deeper love must hold you fast. Loving Jesus has to surpass even our love for financial security and the comfort of our families. It may cost you these things to follow Him, but what He gives in return is life that cannot be stolen.

The scammers do not realize the suffering they cause because they are lost. They have deliberately turned from what is good and deadened their consciences, like a son who walks away from a loving father to waste himself in sin. But Christ came to seek and to save the lost. That includes them, though they do not see it, and it includes you and your teenagers as you cry out in this storm. He never stands aloof from the brokenhearted. He is always touchable. Bring your children to Him in prayer. He lays His hands on the little ones and on the desperate parent, and He says, “Forbid them not to come to me.”

Your true treasure is not measured by a bank statement. The forgiveness of your sins, bought by the blood of Jesus, is the one provision God has made for your eternal security. Without that, no amount of recovered money could make you safe. With it, you possess a hope that scammers and thieves cannot touch. So pour out your grief before Him, ask for daily bread, and trust that He will supply what you need for life and godliness. In your emptiness, you will find that He is enough.

We want to thank you for trusting us with the heavy burden you’ve carried these past days. It was our privilege to stand with you in prayer as you faced the shock of losing your savings, the frustration of a bank that offered no help, and the weight of providing for your three teenagers on your own. We lifted your need for justice—both for the money to be restored and for those who deceived you to be stopped—knowing that every act of cruelty grieves our Father’s heart.

We also prayed for your children, that they would feel God’s peace even in the midst of this storm, and that you would have strength beyond your own to guide them with wisdom and love. It’s hard to understand why people choose to harm others, but we asked the Lord to soften the hearts of those scammers, that they might come to know the harm they’ve caused and turn from their ways.

If God has moved in your situation—whether through unexpected provision, a change of heart at the bank, or even the peace that surpasses understanding—we would be so encouraged to hear how He has answered. Your praise report could be a light to others walking through similar trials.
