Disciple of Prayer
Heavenly Father, You bless those who trust in You and make You their hope and confidence. I put my trust in You regarding my finances because, in You, I am confident. I will be like a tree planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. I will not be bothered by pressure or long months of financial drought. I will not worry because I will never stop producing fruit, and when rooted in You, I will never lack. Father let it be to me as it was to the widow of Zarephath Amen.

Business Troubles
Memory-The Handmaid of Hope
The Botany of the Bible; or, God Among the Flowers
We join you in bringing your financial difficulty before our Heavenly Father and we are encouraged by the trust you have expressed in Him. Your prayer beautifully echoes the promise in Jeremiah 17:7-8, Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose confidence Yahweh is. For he will be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green; and will not be concerned in the year of drought. It won’t cease from yielding fruit. We pray that you would indeed be rooted deeply in Him and find your hope and confidence in Him alone, not in riches or in circumstances.

We also hear your heart as you ask that it would be to you as it was to the widow of Zarephath. We remember that story in 1 Kings 17:14 where the Lord said through Elijah, The jar of meal will not run out, and the jar of oil will not fail, until the day that Yahweh sends rain on the earth. God did provide miraculously for that widow, but we also remember she obeyed the word of the Lord in faith and gave what little she had. God is able to provide for you in miraculous ways as well, and He also calls us to steward what He has given us with diligence, wisdom and contentment. His promise is not that we will never face pressure or want, but that He will supply what we need as we seek Him first, for My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 and But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33.

We want to encourage you in this season of financial drought to continue to trust, but also to walk in practical wisdom. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty. Proverbs 21:5. We encourage you to be faithful in honest work, to live within your means, to avoid needless debt, to budget carefully, to be generous even in little, and to be content while trusting God for increase. The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, but contentment with godliness is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6 and 1 Timothy 6:10 remind us to keep our hearts free from anxiety and greed and to find our security in Christ rather than in abundance.

We noticed your prayer was addressed to the Heavenly Father but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently point this out because we want you to have full assurance of access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your complete trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing He died for you and rose again, and to approach the Father in His name.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and we lift up this dear one to You in their financial need. You know the pressures, the bills, the uncertainty and the long months of drought they have faced. We ask that You would provide for every need according to Your riches in glory, that You would open doors for honest work and opportunity, grant wisdom to steward resources well, and give peace that surpasses understanding. Help them to remain like a tree planted by waters, rooted in Your Word and Your faithfulness, bearing fruit even in hard times and not overcome by worry. Teach them to seek Your kingdom first and to trust Your hand whether in plenty or in want, and to walk in obedience as the widow of Zarephath did. Forgive our sins and draw us closer to You through Jesus. We ask You to supply, to sustain and to be glorified in this situation. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer with us. We hear how much you want to stay rooted in trust while you are walking through this long stretch of financial pressure, and how weary that drought can feel.

It makes sense that worry would rise when bills are tight and months feel thin. Wanting to keep producing fruit while you feel stretched is not a lack of faith, it is part of what it means to keep looking to God in a hard season. We are standing with you in that.

One thing that has helped many people in a similar place is to pair prayer with a clear, practical look at the numbers with someone trustworthy. If you have not already, we encourage you to sit down soon with a pastor, a financial stewardship ministry at a local church, or a nonprofit financial counselor who can help you make a simple budget and a plan for the weeks ahead. You do not have to carry the figuring alone, and having a plan in place can bring a steadier sense of hope as you continue to trust the Lord day by day.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask for Your provision and wisdom in these financial needs. Give clarity for each decision, peace in place of worry, and steady confidence in Your care. Lead to helpful people and next steps, and sustain daily bread and dignity in the waiting. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer concerning financial difficulty has been heard, and it is good that you have turned to the Lord who is your hope and confidence.

There is comfort in knowing that He who is the God of the hills is also the God of the valleys. He is not only God in times of abundance but God also in months of pressure and straitness. Do not think that He is far from you in this trial, for the true believer recognizes God everywhere and sees His hand in all that chequers life. Though clouds may surround you, your God is your light, and though storms rage around you, your God is your might.

You have well said that you put your trust in Him and desire to be as a tree planted by the waters. Remember that where God begins a work, He does not ask you to finish it, He always completes His own work. True trust is to take God at His word and to believe Him. It is not presumption to believe God, it is true humility to trust Him when He says He will save and keep those who trust in the blood of Jesus Christ. If you can say, My God, then you have said enough, for no man is truly resting until God has His right place upon the throne of the heart. He must be My God, not merely a name, but your portion and your confidence.

You asked that it might be to you as it was to the widow of Zarephath. Remember how the Lord sustained her in famine, not with abundance laid up in store, but with daily provision from His own hand, that she might learn that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Do not limit the Holy One by setting a time or a way for Him to deliver you. Dare to give God honor by trusting Him even now, and exercise faith upon a living God, for your God is not worth having if He cannot help you when you want help. He pleads the cause of His saints, and it is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for you.

And while you trust Him, love Him who thus gives Himself to be trusted by you, and labor for the Lord in whom you are trusting. Be content to be in just such a place as God would put you, and be diligent in the calling He has given you, doing for others as God has done for you. He will provide what is needful according to His wisdom, and whether in little or in much, you shall find Him to be as real as if you could see Him.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, You are My God and the God of all who trust in Your Son Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation. You know the burden of this financial drought and the pressure that weighs upon this soul. Hear this prayer and teach Your statutes, that trust may not give way to fear. Forgive sin through the blood of Christ, grant faith to take You at Your word, and provide daily bread according to Your perfect will. Give wisdom to steward what is given, strength to labor faithfully, and contentment to rest in Your care. Cause this life to bear fruit even in this season, not for boasting, but for Your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
