We hear your cry for help, and we come before the throne of grace with you, seeking mercy and restoration in the name of Jesus Christ. First and foremost, we must address the root of the struggle you are facing. Adultery is a grievous sin that breaks the covenant of marriage and wounds not only the individuals involved but also the heart of God. The Bible is clear in its condemnation of such actions: "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). The delays and stagnation you are experiencing may very well be a consequence of unrepented sin, as the Lord disciplines those He loves (Hebrews 12:6). However, we also know that God is faithful and just to forgive us when we confess our sins and turn away from them (1 John 1:9).
It is encouraging that you have prayed for forgiveness, but we must also examine whether there has been true repentance, a turning away from the sin and a commitment to walk in obedience to God’s Word. Have you sought forgiveness from your spouse, if applicable, and taken steps to restore trust and honor in your marriage? Have you cut off all ties with the person involved in the adultery? Repentance is not just feeling sorry; it is a change of heart and action. "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:7 WEB).
We also want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is the foundation upon which all breakthroughs are built.
Now, let us pray together for your financial breakthrough and restoration:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that You are our Provider and our Redeemer. We lift up this dear one who is struggling with the consequences of sin and the weight of financial hardship. Lord, we ask that You would forgive them fully and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Help them to walk in true repentance, turning away from sin and toward Your righteousness. Father, we rebuke the spirit of stagnation and delay that has come as a result of this sin, and we declare that Your mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Lord, we ask for a financial breakthrough in their life. Provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Open doors of opportunity that no man can shut, and grant them wisdom in managing their resources. Help them to trust in You and not in their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). We declare that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous (Proverbs 13:22), and we ask that You would release it into their hands. Break every curse of lack and poverty, and let Your blessings overtake them.
Father, we also pray for restoration in their marriage, if applicable. Heal the wounds caused by adultery, and restore trust and love between them and their spouse. Let Your peace rule in their home, and may their marriage be a testimony of Your grace and redemption. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
In addition to prayer, we encourage you to take practical steps toward financial stewardship. Seek godly counsel, create a budget, and look for opportunities to work diligently as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23). Trust that God will honor your obedience and provide for your needs. "But seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33 WEB). Stand firm in faith, knowing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). You are not forgotten, and your breakthrough is coming. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

True repentance gives God glory, but that repentance which merely weeps over consequences and not over the sin itself is a repentance that needs to be repented of. You speak of delays and a lack of funds, and you connect these to the adultery. It is well that you see the hand of God in your trouble, for His goodness is meant to lead you to repentance. Yet I ask you, is your sorrow chiefly for the stagnant business and the empty purse, or for the wound you have dealt to the holy name of God? The repentance that is after a godly sort abhors the sin because it is against such tender, patient love, it makes the heart burn with indignation that it should have offended so good a Father. David, under the Law, remembered that no sacrifice was appointed for adultery and murder, yet he found the sacrifices of God to be a broken spirit. Have you come to that place? A broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Repentance and remission are so joined together that wherever there is true turning from sin, there is the full and free forgiveness of all sins through Christ Jesus. But the repentance which does not lead you straight to the cross, to look wholly out of self to Christ and Christ only, is a repentance which leaves you still in your sins. The Spirit works in us that we turn toward God, and this turning is never apart from faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. You say you have prayed for forgiveness, yet you feel stagnant. Beloved, what if your stagnation is a merciful call to cease all reliance upon your prayers and your tears, and to cast yourself entirely upon Him who has made an end of sin by the sacrifice of Himself? There is no cleansing for adultery but the blood of the Lamb; no washing but in that fountain opened for sin and uncleanness. Look to Him, and though your sin be as scarlet, it shall be white as snow. Then will your heart be unburdened, and you will learn that the goodness of God, not the spur of temporal loss, is the strongest argument for a life of holiness.
Repentance lives as long as faith, and if you are truly the Lord’s, He will not let you find rest in any half-turning. The delays and the dwindling funds, take them as a loving Father’s rod, driving you not to despair but to the feet of Him who receives sinners. Renounce the sin utterly, in heart and life; then trust Christ with all your weight, and He will receive you. His blood cleanses, His grace restores, and His providence can open a way where you see none. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Let the chief desire of your soul be to glorify God in a life turned toward Him through Jesus Christ, for that is the repentance that bringeth life and every blessing in its train.

You attribute your present financial delays to the adultery you committed, and you plead for breakthrough. I hear your cry, but I must ask: do you seek deliverance from the consequences of sin, or from sin itself? You say you have prayed for forgiveness, yet you remain stagnant. Consider whether your repentance has been a true turning, or merely a sorrow for the trouble that has befallen you. Esau also sought blessing with tears, but found no place of repentance, because his grief was not godly sorrow. True repentance is not a mere regret for lost prosperity; it is a hatred of the sin, a contrite heart that turns entirely from the defilement and produces the fruit of amendment. Have you cut off the occasion of your fall? Have you confessed the wrong not only to God but made what amends are possible, and purposed to guard your eyes and your heart from all lust, which the Lord Himself counts as adultery? If you have not, then it is no wonder you feel stagnant. The delay you experience may be the mercy of God, giving you space to bring forth works worthy of repentance, rather than rushing you into further ruin. Manasseh, after unspeakable pollutions, obtained mercy because his repentance was genuine and thorough.
Guard against two extremes. Some say there is no second remission after grave sin, and so they plunge into despair. Others use delay to presume upon God’s patience, thinking a few words of prayer suffice. Neither is true. The Church is a spiritual bath that can wipe away the stains of the soul, for godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation without regret. But if you mourn only the loss of funds, that is not repentance but the sorrow of the world that brings death. Your financial straits are a light chastisement compared to the worm that dies not. Therefore, use this season to consider that God avenges not the person injured but Himself, for you have dishonored your own body which is a temple. The poverty you feel now is an opportunity to learn that the soul’s health is far more precious than silver. Confess, fast, give alms, and flee from occasions of sin. Then, having truly repented and amended your life, you may approach the holy mysteries not as one who crucifies the Son of God afresh, but as one who has found mercy. Then, whether your finances are restored or not, you will possess the true treasure of a cleansed conscience and the hope of the world to come.
