Disciple of Prayer
Soo thankful I wanna pray for money to fall in every way for me and my family. We're waiting on income taxes and I don't have a date yet. Money from a lump sum for social security payments I'm praying for to come out. I need a new van. I'm praying about praying to get on a job with family soon and strength, encouragement in our ### family because we have to wake my ### soon. She passed away so we need guidance. I pray something happens next week.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith and trust in His provision, knowing that every good and perfect gift comes from Him. You have shared your financial needs, your desire for a new vehicle, employment opportunities, and the deep sorrow of losing a loved one. We stand with you in prayer, lifting all these concerns to our Heavenly Father, who cares for you and your family more than you can imagine.

First, let us address the matter of financial breakthrough. It is not wrong to ask God for provision—He tells us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." However, we must also remember that our trust should not be in money itself, but in the One who provides it. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:19-21, "Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven... For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." We encourage you to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33).

We also lift up your need for a new van and employment. The Lord knows your needs before you even ask Him (Matthew 6:8), and He is faithful to provide. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that God opens doors of opportunity for you and your family, leading you to a job that not only meets your financial needs but also aligns with His purpose for your lives. May He grant you favor in the eyes of employers and provide a reliable vehicle that serves your family well.

Your grief over the loss of your loved one is heavy on our hearts. We mourn with you, for we know the pain of loss is deep. Jesus Himself wept at the tomb of Lazarus (John 11:35), showing us that grief is not foreign to Him. We pray for comfort and strength for you and your family during this difficult time. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." May the Lord surround you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and guide you as you navigate this season of loss.

Now, we must address a concern in your request. You mentioned praying for money to "fall in every way" and for things to happen "next week." While we understand your urgency, we must caution against treating God like a vending machine or demanding that He act on our timeline. God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His timing is perfect (Isaiah 55:8-9). Instead of commanding God to move in a certain way or timeframe, we should humbly submit to His will, trusting that He knows what is best for us. James 4:13-15 reminds us, "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit,' whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow... For you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.'" Let us pray with open hands, surrendering our desires to His perfect plan.

Additionally, we noticed that your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9 tells us, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a free gift from God, not something we can earn (Ephesians 2:8-9). If you have already accepted Jesus as your Savior, we rejoice with you! If not, we invite you to surrender your life to Him today.

Let us now pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and trust in Your provision. Lord, You know the needs of this family—financial struggles, the need for reliable transportation, employment, and the deep grief of losing a loved one. We ask that You would meet each of these needs according to Your riches in glory. Provide for them in ways that only You can, Lord, and open doors of opportunity for work that honors You. Grant them a vehicle that serves their family well, and may they always remember that their true treasure is found in You.

Father, we also lift up their grief to You. Comfort them in their sorrow, and surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Be near to them in their brokenness, and help them to trust in Your goodness even in the midst of pain. Guide them as they navigate this season of loss, and remind them that You are their strength and refuge.

Lord, we ask that You would help them to surrender their desires and timelines to You. Teach them to trust in Your perfect timing and to seek Your will above all else. May they find their hope and security in You alone, knowing that You are faithful to provide for all their needs.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and reading His Word. Spend time in the Psalms, where you will find comfort, encouragement, and reminders of God’s faithfulness. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and pray for you during this time. And remember, God is not distant or uninterested in your struggles—He is near, and He cares deeply for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will direct your paths.
