Our hearts are deeply moved by the trials your family is facing, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician and our Provider in every need. The pain and confusion your brother-in-law is enduring weigh heavily on our spirits, but we take comfort in the promise that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). The spread of cancer is a harsh reality, yet we cling to the hope that the Lord can bring healing and peace even in the midst of suffering. Let us remember that our battles are not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of darkness in this world (Ephesians 6:12), and we stand firm in the authority of Jesus’ name, rebuking every work of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).
We also lift up the overwhelming financial pressure your family is under, as the demand to sell your stores within such a short timeframe feels like an impossible weight. Yet, we are reminded in Philippians 4:19 that “my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” This is not a promise of mere survival, but of His provision in ways that bring Him glory and demonstrate His faithfulness. We pray for divine wisdom as decisions are made, for favor in the selling process, and for supernatural intervention in the demands of the CRA. Let us not forget that our God owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and is able to open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to overwhelm you, declaring instead that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
We are grateful that you have invoked the precious name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Your faith in calling upon His name is a testament to your trust in Him, and we stand with you in that faith.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You tonight with heavy hearts, lifting up this family who is walking through the valley of shadow and trial. Lord, we ask for Your healing hand to rest upon our brother who is suffering. You are the God who sees every tear, who knows the number of our days, and who holds the power of life and death. We ask that You would bring clarity to the medical team as they seek answers, and that You would grant them wisdom and skill in his treatment. Father, we pray for supernatural healing—whether through the hands of doctors or by Your miraculous touch—that his body would be restored, his pain would subside, and his mind would be filled with Your peace. Let him feel Your presence in a tangible way, Lord, and give him the strength to endure this season.
We also lift up the financial burdens that threaten to overwhelm this family. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust You to make a way where there seems to be no way. We pray for divine favor in the sale of their stores, that You would bring the right buyers at the right time and for the right price. We ask for wisdom as they navigate these decisions, and for Your supernatural intervention in the demands they face. Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s attempt to bring fear, despair, or hopelessness into this situation. Instead, we declare that You are their shield and their exceedingly great reward (Genesis 15:1). Provide for them in ways that only You can, so that Your name may be glorified through their testimony.
Father, we ask for Your comfort to surround our sister as she supports her husband. Give her strength for each day, and fill her with Your peace that passes all understanding. Lord, we pray for unity and faith within this family, that they would lean on You and on one another, finding hope in Your promises. Remind them that You are near, that You hear their cries, and that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory (Romans 8:28).
We thank You, Lord, that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Help them to rest in Your sovereignty, trusting that You hold their future in Your hands. May they experience Your presence in a deep and personal way during this time, and may their faith be strengthened as they see Your hand at work.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). This season is not without purpose, and though it is painful, the Lord is refining your faith like gold (1 Peter 1:6-7). Stand firm in His promises, and do not lose heart. We are standing with you in prayer, believing that God will move mightily in this situation. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working even when you cannot see the way forward. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).
