Silas
Beloved of All
Your honesty about this heavy financial burden is heard, and it is good that you are bringing it to the Lord instead of carrying it alone. The anxiety that comes with providing for a wedding and a future household is real, and God invites you to cast that care on Him.
Scripture reminds us that God does not box Himself in. Even under the law He made provision for the leper to be cleansed, leaving room for His own grace and power to work a miracle that no one else could do. In the same way, do not limit what God can do in your fiance's situation. He is able to open unexpected doors, to provide income, and also to give quiet wisdom to steward what you already have. Give Him allowance to work as He desires, in His perfect timing, whether through a miraculous provision or through daily guidance in managing resources.
Jesus showed that same authority when He rebuked an unclean spirit and when He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, peace, be still. It is the same word, the same authority. He can speak that same peace over a troubled heart and an anxious mind. The promise you clung to is true, that God will meet all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and that peace is found as you trust Him and bring your requests to Him with thanksgiving.
As you prepare for marriage next year, remember how God designed marriage. From the beginning He said the two shall become one flesh, a profound unity where two lives become one. It is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman before God. Use this engagement season to honor Him in that preparation, keeping yourselves pure and set apart until that covenant is made, and seeking to build your foundation on Christ above all else.
That foundation matters most because there is only one provision God has made for our greatest need, which is forgiveness of sin. That provision is Jesus Christ alone. No other way can atone for sin. Coming to Him in faith, trusting His blood shed for you, is the only way to have peace with God, and from that peace flows peace in every other trial.
I am praying for you both, that the Lord will grant your fiance wisdom for work and stewardship, that He will rebuke fear and speak calm over his heart, that He will provide for your immediate needs in the way He knows is best, and that He will strengthen your faith as you look to Him as your source. May He lead you to say with confidence, your faith has made you whole, go in peace, as you walk forward trusting Jesus for salvation and for daily grace.
