Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and your need so openly. God sees the burden you carry for yourself and for your family, and He invites you to bring every financial care to Him in the name of Jesus.
Scripture gives a precious promise that God will supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. That promise does not mean He will supply everything we want in the way we imagine, but it does mean we can look to Him as a generous Father who truly owns all things and who cares for His children. When He guides, He provides. Our part is to look to Him rather than to people, trusting that He knows how to take care of what belongs to Him.
In the Bible we also see that God often supplies our needs through the work He gives our hands to do. There is dignity in laboring faithfully to provide for a family, and for many years of ministry that kind of steady work was the very means God used to meet daily needs. Every honest opportunity to work can be received as from His hand. At the same time, God has placed us in a family of faith where there is a beautiful bond, often deeper than even blood ties. In that family there is a principle of equality, that those who have abundance in a season help supply the lack of others, and that giving and receiving both become a reason for thanksgiving to God. And Scripture is also clear that we have a first responsibility to care for our own household with diligence and integrity, for that is part of walking faithfully before Him.
It is right to ask God to provide, and it is right to leave room for Him to work in His own way. He is not boxed in by our expectations. He can open doors we have not seen, and He can also teach us contentment as we learn that our physical needs, though real and important, are not to rule over us. We eat to live, we do not live to eat. Our bodies have needs that must be cared for, but our lives are to be governed by the Spirit and by fellowship with God, not by anxiety over those needs.
Above every other provision, remember that God has made one provision for the deepest need we all have, the forgiveness of sin and the removal of guilt, and that is through His only Son. The Spirit bears witness to this, that if we come to Jesus His blood cleanses us. When that need is met, we can face every other need with confidence that the Father who gave His Son will not withhold what is good for us.
So I pray for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this dear one and this family before You. You know their financial needs, their bills, their responsibilities, and the desire for a breakthrough. I ask that You would provide for them according to Your wisdom and Your riches in Christ. Give them strength to work faithfully with what You have placed in their hands, open right opportunities, grant wisdom in stewardship, and surround them with the help and encouragement of Your people where it is needed. Above all, keep their hearts at peace as they trust You, not ruled by worry, but resting in the knowledge that You are their Father who cares. May their needs being met become a reason for praise to You. Amen.
