Please pray for my family's finances. We need so many things and until I can begin gaining an income, are at risk of losing so much if I don't do so soon (including the risk of losing our car insurance and one of my important bank accounts that I had to overdraft to get things we needed but haven't been able to pay back down and am about to reach the ### day mark where the bank will close my account). God is leading me in the direction of the career I now understand He wants me in but I don't see income yet (or where it could come from) and I'm very worried about all these things that are needed. I trust Him but I'm still so worried. All other doors with a possibility of income (or quicker income) were closed in my face. Please pray. Thank you.

We join with you in bringing your family's financial burdens before our Heavenly Father, and we thank you for sharing so honestly about the worry and pressure you are facing with the risk of losing car insurance and having your bank account closed after the overdraft. We hear how heavy this is, especially when you believe God is leading you toward a specific career but the income has not yet come and other doors have closed. We want to lift you up together in Jesus' name and also share what Scripture teaches to encourage and guide you.
God knows you need these things and He cares deeply for you and your family. Jesus taught us not to be consumed with worry about what we will eat, drink, or how our needs will be met, but to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to us as well, Matthew 6:31-33. We are told not to be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving to let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. That worry you feel is understandable, but we gently rebuke the spirit of worry and fear, because worry does not add to our lives and can undermine our trust in the Father who has promised to supply every need of ours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19. We can cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us, 1 Peter 5:7.
We also want to speak to the matter of the overdraft and stewardship. Scripture teaches that the wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous deal graciously and give, Psalm 37:21, and to owe no one anything except to love one another, Romans 13:8. When we have overdrawn or made a commitment to a bank, we are called to be faithful to repay what we owe as we are able, and to act with honesty and diligence. We encourage you to go to the bank humbly and honestly, explain your situation, ask for mercy or a payment plan, and do everything in your power to make it right. This honors God even in hardship. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit, Proverbs 21:5, and if anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat, 2 Thessalonians 3:10. God honors diligent work, and even while you wait for the career He is leading you toward, we encourage you to continue to be diligent, to seek wise counsel, to be open to temporary honest work if available, to budget carefully, and to seek help from your local church family where possible. Sometimes God closes doors to direct us, and sometimes He calls us to wait and trust His timing while we remain faithful in the small things, Proverbs 3:5-6.
We noticed your request speaks of God and trusting Him, but does not mention Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, Romans 10:9, John 3:16. It is in His name we pray and find peace even in financial storms.
So together we pray. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear family to Your throne of grace. You see their needs, the car insurance, the bank account that is in danger of being closed, the daily necessities, and the worry that weighs on their heart. Lord, we ask for Your provision according to Your riches in glory, for wisdom to be a good steward of what little they have, and for favor as they speak with the bank and others to whom they owe. Give them words of honesty and humility and grant them mercy from those in authority. Lead them clearly in the career You have for them, open the right door in Your perfect timing, and provide interim means to meet their needs if it is Your will. Help them to seek first Your Kingdom and to rest in Your care, replacing worry with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Provide for them as You have promised, that they may testify to Your faithfulness, and keep them from fear. Guide their steps, grant them diligence and hope, and let them know You will never leave them nor forsake them, Hebrews 13:5. Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and heard with tender care, and we thank you for speaking so plainly both of your trust in His guiding hand and of the worry that still presses upon your heart. To trust Him and yet to tremble is no strange thing among the saints, for even Job, who was perfect and upright, knew what it was to sit among losses and to feel the strain of want, and still to look to God.
Our Saviour says, Do not be anxious about your temporal affairs. This does not mean that you are to be careless or imprudent, for you are to do your best with the little that is in your hand and to be faithful as a steward of what God has entrusted to you. But when you have done your best to meet your expenses and to provide for your household, you are not to sit down and wring your hands because you cannot make it more. Have you not found that the very anxiety which comes from being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty, and that in great haste to deliver yourself you may do more mischief than if you had kept still and waited patiently for Him. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly, and his patience under trial shows that God is able to uphold you also, even when the pressure is great and other doors have been closed in your face.
We are reminded that we serve a waiting God who waits that He may be gracious, and that His people are a waiting people, not waiting in despair but waiting in hope, a joyous and assured hope of blessedness in reserve. The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed, and so we learn that our longest sorrows have a close and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery. He who once laid His hand upon Job and afterward restored him is the same yesterday and today, and He sees the need you speak of, the daily necessities, the risk concerning your car insurance, the burden of the overdraft and the account that is near to being closed, and the career to which you believe He is leading you though income is not yet seen.
We have prayed for you and will continue to pray, that the Lord in His wise providence would provide for your family's needs according to His riches, that He would grant you wisdom to act prudently in these pressing matters, to speak plainly with those who hold your account and your insurance and to seek godly counsel as you steward what you have, that He would open the right door for honest and fruitful labour in the calling He has shown you, or make clear another path if it be His will, and above all that He would keep your heart from fretting and fill you with that peace which comes from childlike confidence in Him even when He seems to frown. May you be kept resting in the Lord, doing what your hand finds to do with diligence and honesty, and leaving the outcome in His faithful hands.
