Finances

We have heard your heart and we are praying with you for you and your family in this season of financial need. It is right to bring these burdens to the Lord, for He sees and He cares, and He knows what you need before you ask.

Scripture gives us a firm promise to rest on, that God will supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. That promise does not mean He will grant every want, but it does mean you can look to Him as a generous Father who takes responsibility for His children. Our hope is not to be placed in people or in circumstances, but in the Lord Himself. When He guides, He provides, and He often provides through the very opportunities He opens for honest work with our own hands.

Part of that provision comes through diligence. God honors work, and every open door to labor faithfully can be seen as His hand supplying what is needed. Part of it also comes through family and through the fellowship of believers. The Bible teaches that we have a responsibility to care for our own households, and that to do so is part of living out our faith. It also teaches that in the body of Christ there is a beautiful equality, where in one season the abundance of some helps meet the lack of others, and in another season the help may flow the other way. In all of this, the aim is not to make money the focus of life, but to let our needs be met in a way that brings thanksgiving and praise to God.

It is understandable to feel anxious when physical and financial needs press hard, and to long for a big breakthrough. God understands the pressure of those needs. Yet we are not to be ruled by them. We have bodies that must be cared for, we must eat and provide and steward what God has given, but we do not live for those things. We live to walk with the Lord, with minds set on the things of the Spirit, trusting Him to care for the things of the body as we seek Him first.

We should also leave room for God to work in His own way. He is not boxed in. He is able to do what is impossible for us, and He has often made provision for a miracle where no way seemed to exist. We can pray for daily bread and also for unexpected mercy, while remaining content to receive what He knows is best.

So we pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this family to You. You know their needs, their bills, their worries, and their hopes for this year. We ask that You would provide for them according to Your riches in glory, that You would open doors for good and honest work, grant wisdom to steward what You give, and bring peace to their hearts as they trust You. Help them to keep their eyes on You rather than on people, to be faithful in what is in their hands, and to know Your care day by day. If it pleases You, show Your power through a clear provision that they can only attribute to Your hand, and let that testimony bring praise to You. Give them contentment, unity in their home, and confidence that You will not abandon Your own. Amen.
