We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up your financial needs and those of your family. The Word of God assures us that He is our Provider, and we stand on the promise that He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We know that our Heavenly Father is not a God of lack, but of abundance, and He delights in blessing His children.
Father God, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the provision You have already given. We ask that You open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing so great that there will not be room enough to receive it (Malachi 3:10). Lord, we rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty in the name of Jesus, and we declare that this year will be a year of financial breakthrough and divine provision. We pray that You would guide and direct in ways that bring honor and glory to Your name, leading to opportunities that will meet every need.
We also encourage you to seek God’s wisdom in managing what He has already entrusted to you. Proverbs 3:9-10 says, "Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase: so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine." Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in the financial lives of Your child and their family. Lord, You know every need, and we trust in Your perfect timing and provision. We declare that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous (Proverbs 13:22), and we ask that You would release it into their hands. Remove any obstacles and break every chain of financial struggle. Provide wisdom, favor, and opportunities that will lead to abundance. The financial straits you now face are no secret to the Lord who fed five thousand with a few loaves and fishes. Consider well that miracle of the loaves: there stood a vast company with nothing but a lad's small basket, and yet when Christ took it, they ate and were filled, with baskets of fragments remaining. The very same Saviour is grand in emergencies, and your extremity is but a schoolroom where He teaches you to trust His providing hand. He is not limited by an empty purse or a barren year; the earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof. Have faith about those simple family matters which are causing you so much irritation and heaviness, you have been praying about them, now commit your cause to God and firmly believe that He will grant your request according to His wisdom and love.
Yet let me press you deeper. The greater miracle is not gold in your coffer, but grace in your heart. Remember that the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s dear Son, cleanses us from all sin, and if He has already wrought that miracle of mercy in your soul, will He not with Him also freely give you all things? His love has not changed; He could not love you more, He will not love you less. Though the answer tarry, tarry it never fails, God’s promise may be long in the coming, but it is never broken. Be not as the disciples who considered not the miracle of the loaves and so fell into unbelief; instead, seeing His past wonders, trust Him for present needs. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. You speak of a breakthrough, a great miracle of provision. But consider what the Scripture and the lives of the saints truly teach us about such desires. The Evangelist says of the Baptist, “John did no miracle.” Yet he fixed the attention of whole cities. How? By his boldness for God, his zeal, his poverty, his garment of skin, his dwelling in the desert. And what of Job? What miracle did he work before the devil’s eyes that left the enemy amazed? None at all, but a life that shone with an endurance firmer than adamant.
Do you not know that miracles, unless we are sober, can do harm? Many of the Corinthians were divided, many Romans carried away with pride, and Simon was cast out. One desired to follow Christ for the wealth and glory miracles might bring, and he was rejected, hearing, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air nests.” Love of virtue, care for a godly practice, so far from generating a greedy desire for wonders, actually takes that desire away when it exists.
You beg to see God’s miracle of provision this year. But the greater miracle is not the supply of money, but a soul that endures need with thanksgiving, a heart that trusts God’s care without demanding a sign. Paul put the whole world to flight not by miracles only, for if you read the Acts you will find him often prevailing by his teaching first. The need is not for pomp or a dazzling display, but for strong minds, skill in the Scriptures, and powerful thoughts.
Let your prayer be for this: that your life might display an endurance firmer than any stone, a faith that needs no wonder to prop it up. That is the true breakthrough. When you have this, you will find that even in straitness, the Preaching is not hindered, and the tongue of thanksgiving runs freely, which no bond can hold.
