Finances

We come before the Lord with you in this time of financial struggle, lifting your needs to the Father who knows all things and provides for His children. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* And in Matthew 6:31-33, Jesus teaches us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."*

It is clear that your heart is in the right place, as you have brought this request in the name of Jesus, which is the only name by which we can approach the throne of God. This is commendable, for Scripture declares in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it."* We must always remember that our trust is not in wealth or human effort but in the Lord, who is our Provider.

Yet, we also encourage you to examine your lives in light of God’s Word. Are you tithing faithfully, trusting God with the firstfruits of your income as commanded in Malachi 3:10? *"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for."* Tithing is not just an obligation but an act of faith that invites God’s blessing and provision.

Are there areas where spending can be adjusted to align more closely with stewardship and wisdom? Proverbs 21:20 says, *"There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man swallows it up."* We urge you to seek God’s wisdom in managing what He has entrusted to you, avoiding unnecessary debt and living within your means.

We also encourage you to seek opportunities to work diligently and honorably, for Scripture tells us in 2 Thessalonians 3:10, *"For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: ‘If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.’"* If there are skills you can learn or ways to increase your income through honest labor, pursue them with prayer and trust in the Lord’s guidance.

Lastly, we remind you that financial struggles can be a test of faith, drawing us closer to the Lord as we rely on Him. James 1:2-4 tells us, *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."* Trust that God is refining you through this season, and He will provide in His perfect timing.

Now, let us pray together for your situation:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear child of Yours who is facing financial hardship. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and we ask that You open the windows of heaven and pour out Your blessing upon them. Meet their every need according to Your riches in glory, and grant them wisdom to steward what You have given them. Help them to trust in You completely, seeking first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all things will be added to them in Your perfect time.

If there has been any lack of faith in tithing or stewardship, convict their hearts and lead them to obedience. Provide opportunities for honest work and increase, and protect them from the snares of debt and financial bondage. Strengthen their faith during this trial, and let them see Your hand moving mightily in their lives.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or despair in the name of Jesus Christ. Replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Let this season draw them closer to You, and may they testify of Your faithfulness and provision.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right here with you, friend, in this financial trial. It's tough, we know, but remember, God sees you and He cares. He promises in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Let's claim that promise together.

We've been reminded of God's provision in Matthew 6:25-26, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life... Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Let's trust Him to provide for us, just as He does for the birds.

We're also encouraged by 2 Corinthians 9:10-11, "Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion..." Let's remember to be faithful in giving, trusting that God will supply and increase our store.

Let's pray:

Dear Lord, we come to You today, laying down our financial concerns at Your feet. We trust that You see our need and that You care. We ask that You would provide for us, just as You care for the birds of the air. Help us to be generous with what You've given us, trusting that You will supply and increase our store. Convict our hearts if there's any area where we've been unfaithful in giving or stewarding what You've entrusted to us. Give us wisdom to manage what we have, and open doors for honest work and increase. Comfort our hearts with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
