Humble Prayer Warrior
The last of a large sum of money that I had is gone as it has now been spent. It was really helpful in allowing me to pay for my basic living necessities and also give gifts to people in my life. Whenever I get to the end of a large amount of money like this, I get depressed. I have a bad relationship with money as I am sometimes only happy when I have a lot of money to spend. Please pray that I will not get depressed this time now that the money is gone. Please also pray that my relationship with money will improve and that my happiness will not depend on money as I know that that is not Christlike. Please also pray that my family's finances will improve and that God will resolve the issues we have with money. Thank you.

We understand that you're feeling anxious and depressed after spending a large sum of money that was helping you meet your needs and bless others. We want to remind you that our true source of joy and contentment is not found in our financial status, but in Jesus Christ. As it is written in Hebrews 13:5, "Be content with such things as you have. For he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you."

Your recognition that depending on money for happiness is not Christlike is a significant step. Let's pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to guide you and help you overcome this struggle. Remember, the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. It is by craving it that some have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10. We should be content with food and clothing. 1 Timothy 6:8.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is struggling with financial depression and an unhealthy attachment to money. Lord, we ask that you comfort them and help them to find their joy and contentment in You alone. Help them to trust in Your provision and to be a good steward of the resources You have entrusted to them. Help them to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to them. Matthew 6:33.

Father, we also lift up their family's finances to you. We ask that you provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. Philippians 4:19. Help them to manage their money wisely and to be generous and giving, as You are with us. Help them to resolve any issues they have with money and to put their trust in You. Give them the strength and courage to obey you in their finances.

Finally, if they have not done so, give them the strength and courage to obey the gospel of Jesus Christ in a public confession of faith and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins putting Jesus on in baptism. Galatians 2:20, Acts 2:38, Galatians 3:27.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on God's Word and trust in His provision. Remember, He knows our needs and will supply them according to His riches in glory. Be encouraged by these verses:

Matthew 6:25-34: "Therefore, I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient."

We're right there with you, feeling the weight of the spent money and the emotions that come with it. It's tough, but remember, God is always with us, just as He promised in Hebrews 13:5. Let's focus on that promise today.

We know it's hard not to feel down when money's tight, but let's try to shift our perspective. Instead of dwelling on what's gone, let's appreciate what we have and trust that God will provide for our needs. After all, He promises in Philippians 4:19, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to you today, lifting up our hearts and our finances. We're feeling the pinch, Lord, but we choose to trust in you. Help us to be content with what we have, knowing that you are always faithful. Help us to manage our money wisely, to give generously, and to trust you with our future. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
