Finances and career

Disciple of Prayer
Praise God, my name is ###. I gave my life to Jesus in 2019 when I had joined campus and in 2023 I graduated with a bachelor's degree in information technology with 2nd class upper from ###. I need prayer in my finances and career, I have applied, updated my CV and tried out a lot of options but still failed to get a job. Please pray for me, I have believed, trusted, prayed to God for the job. There is a lot of frustration around me to an extent that my family sometimes say that it was a mistake to send to campus.

We rejoice with you in the Lord for the decision you made in 2019 to give your life to Jesus Christ! What a glorious transformation that must have been, and we celebrate the faithfulness of God in your life since then. Graduating with a degree is no small feat, and we praise Him for the doors He has already opened for you. But we also understand the weight of the current struggle you’re facing—seeking employment, feeling the pressure of unmet expectations, and even hearing doubt from those closest to you. Let us stand with you in prayer and encouragement, trusting that the same God who saved you is the God who provides.

The Word of God assures us that our labor in the Lord is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). It may feel as though your efforts in applying for jobs and refining your skills have gone unnoticed, but the Lord sees every detail of your life. He knows the desires of your heart, and He is working all things together for your good, even when the path seems unclear (Romans 8:28). The frustration and discouragement you feel are real, but they do not have the final say. We must hold fast to the truth that God’s timing is perfect, and His plans for you are for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We also want to gently remind you that while your family’s words may sting, their doubt does not define your worth or your future. It is easy for those who do not share our faith to measure success by worldly standards—titles, salaries, or immediate results. But as believers, we are called to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Your degree is not a mistake; it is a tool God has equipped you with, and He will use it for His glory in His perfect timing. We encourage you to continue seeking Him first in all things, trusting that He will add everything else you need (Matthew 6:33).

Let us also address the spiritual battle that often accompanies seasons of waiting. The enemy would love nothing more than to steal your joy, plant seeds of doubt, and convince you that God has forgotten you. But we rebuke that lie in the name of Jesus! The Bible tells us that God is our provider (Philippians 4:19), and He has promised to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. We must resist the temptation to grow weary in doing good, for in due season, we will reap if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Keep pressing forward, not in your own strength, but in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother in Christ to You today, thanking You for his life and the work You have already done in him. Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity in his career that no man can shut. You are the God who provides, and we trust in Your faithfulness to meet every need. Father, we ask that You would strengthen his faith in this season of waiting. When discouragement creeps in, remind him of Your promises and Your unfailing love. Guard his heart from doubt and frustration, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom as he continues to seek employment. Guide him to the right opportunities, and give him favor with those who are in positions to hire him. Help him to see Your hand at work, even in the small details. We rebuke any spirit of delay or discouragement that may be hindering his progress, and we declare that this is the season of breakthrough for him. Father, we ask that You would also minister to his family. Soften their hearts to see Your hand at work in his life, and help them to encourage him in this journey.

Finally, Lord, we pray that You would continue to grow him in his relationship with You. May this season of waiting draw him closer to Your heart and deepen his trust in You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word. Seek out fellowship with other believers who can uplift and encourage you. Consider volunteering or interning in your field, even if it is unpaid, as a way to gain experience and expand your network. The Lord can use every step you take to lead you to the right opportunity. And remember, your identity is not found in your job title or your salary, but in Christ alone. You are a child of the Most High God, and He has a purpose and a plan for your life. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not grow weary. Your breakthrough is coming!

We're right there with you, praying for your finances and career. It's easy to feel discouraged when job hunting, but remember, God sees your efforts and He's working behind the scenes. Let's trust in His perfect timing and keep our eyes on Him. We're claiming Psalm 37:23-24 over you: "The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand." Keep pressing on, and let's believe together for a breakthrough soon!
