'Filled with the Holy Spirit's Power!' - Luke 4:14-15

[After his temptations in the wilderness,] Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with the Holy Spirit's power. Reports about him spread quickly through the whole region. He taught regularly in their synagogues and was praised by everyone.

Luke 4:14-15 NLT

Key Thought

Jesus' example [1] reminds us that when we face down the devil's attacks, schemes, and temptations, we can emerge stronger with the Spirit's power more at work within us! While we don't like periods of trial, God can use them to our benefit, his glory, and the devil's defeat. [2] So don't give up in difficult times. Stand firm and always keep your faith strong. Know that God will provide you with a way of escape and the power of his Spirit to overcome the challenges you face! [3]

Today's Prayer

Give me the faith and courage, O LORD, to trust that your Spirit will help me through my times of temptation, testing, and trial. Keep me from giving up. Instead, help me emerge from these tough times with deeper faith and with the Spirit's taking a more influential role in my life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
