Feelings Or Faith?

FEELINGS OR FAITH?

He who does not believe God, has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 1 John 5:10

Many people seem to think that it's wrong to say we know we are bound for heaven but the Bible tells us we can be assured of it.

Jesus said,He who believes in Me has everlasting life (Jn. 6:47). To question whether one has been redeemed after he has fulfilled God's requirement for salvation is to call God a liar and that is the sin of unbelief. How much better would it be to trust God's Word, which states, Whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. (1 Jn. 5:1).

.

I asked a believer once, Do you feel that your sins are forgiven? A resounding No, was his reply. We may not always feel that we are forgiven, but we can be assured that we are, because God Himself says so!

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:12)

(Micah 7:18-19) Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Apostle Paul did not say, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will feel that you are saved. He said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved (Acts 16:31). Not all people feel that their sins are forgiven the moment they put their faith in Jesus Christ and receive the gift of salvation, but they are saved nonetheless.

Even the faintest cry to God from the heart for salvation is heard and answered. Rest on the rock-solid foundation of the Word, not on the sinking sand of your feelings!

Salvation is not feelings, but faith in Jesus Christ our Savior.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)

This holds true with all the promises of God, just simply believe them and receive them and you will have them.
