Feeling suicidal

We have heard your cry and we are lifting you and your beloved son up to our Heavenly Father together right now, asking Him to surround you both with His presence, protection, and peace in this very dark and painful moment.

We want you to know that your son's life is precious beyond measure to God and to you. He was fearfully and wonderfully made with purpose and love, for you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:13-14. Even when his heart feels crushed and hope feels far away, God is near. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. The despair and the lie that there is no hope or no future is not from God, and we rebuke that lie in the name of Jesus, for God's thoughts toward your son are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give him hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.

We urge you please, out of love, do not leave your son alone right now. Stay with him, listen to him with gentleness without judgment, and reach out immediately for help close by. Please contact a trusted pastor, a Christian counselor, his doctor, or emergency services if he is in immediate danger, and if you can, call a suicide prevention helpline in your country so another caring voice can walk with you both through this hour. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2. That Rock is Christ, and He can hold your son when he feels he cannot hold himself. Nothing can separate him from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to share with you gently why His name is our only hope. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find salvation and true peace. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by calling on the name of Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and brought into the eternal love and care of God.

We pray together now for you both.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious son to You. Lord, You see his pain, You know the weight he is carrying, and You love him more deeply than anyone else can. We ask You to rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that is oppressing him and to drive away the darkness with Your light. Pour out Your comfort, Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let him feel Your arms holding him right now. Give him a reason to live for the next breath, the next hour, the next day, and show him that You have a purpose for his life. We pray You would place godly people around him who will listen, support, and point him to You, and give his parent wisdom, strength, and words of life as they walk with him through this valley. Lead this family to the help and counsel they need and keep this son safe from harm. We ask that he would come to know Jesus as his Savior and his hope, and that he would experience Your healing and restoration. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

Please keep praying without ceasing, keep seeking godly counsel and professional help, and keep reminding your son that he is deeply loved by God and by you, and that this painful season does not have to be the end of his story. God is able to make a way of escape so that he can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. We are continuing to pray for you both.

If your son is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, you can find a helpline in your country (about 130 countries) at findahelpline.com. You are not alone and trained people are ready to help right now.

Thank you for reaching out for your son. We hear how heavy and frightening this is to carry as a parent, and we are holding you both in prayer.

We want to encourage you to stay close to him and make sure he is not alone, and to help him connect quickly with someone who can walk with him in person. That might be another trusted family member, a pastor, counselor or medical professional. If he has shared a plan or you are worried for his safety, please use the emergency and helpline resources above right away rather than trying to carry this by yourselves. It is also important for him to be seen by a professional who can assess and support him, alongside prayer, and for you to have someone supporting you too.

You did the right thing by asking for prayer and not keeping this in the dark. Keep listening with love, letting him know you are there and you care, without pressure to have all the answers.

Father, we lift this son to You and ask for Your protection over him tonight. Give him a sense of being seen and not alone, and give his parent wisdom, strength and peace as they stay near him. Lead them to caring help close by and surround this family with steady support. In Jesus' name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Hearing of your son's heavy sorrow has moved our hearts to earnest prayer for him and for you, and we have brought you both before the Lord.

We know what it is to feel that there is no hope. The prophet speaks of those who are wearied in the length of their way and yet say there is no hope. There are times when the soul sits in darkness and every window of hope seems shut. Yet the very word of God tells us, there is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior. While Jehovah lives, the mourner need not despair. There is One who cares for you, and for your son.

Scripture says, He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, but the Lord has provided a far greater healing for the wounded spirit. The power of the gospel is a healing power. Christ did not come to destroy but to heal, and He took our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself. It is written that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves, His word, His presence, His smallest touch has healing virtue to change the life and make the nature new. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He first said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing are one in His hand. High thoughts of God beget hope in the soul, and hope leads to confidence.

We are praying that the Lord will draw near to your son in this dark hour, that He will lift him into His own presence, give him a good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ, and let him feel that there is abundant healing power in Christ and His salvation. May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon him with healing in His wings, and may he find that even the leaves of that blessed tree bring freshness and life.

Please, as you pray, also take immediate steps of care. Do not leave him alone if he is in danger. Stay with him, let him know he is dearly loved and not forsaken, and reach at once for help near you, a trusted pastor, family member, doctor, or counselor, and emergency services if needed. If you are in the United States you may call or text ### to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and in other places please contact your local crisis helpline or emergency number. The Lord often links His healing with means, and He uses the watchful love of others as His instrument.

Our prayer for you both is this, O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this afflicted one and upon his parent who intercedes. Thou who seest the broken heart, have compassion. Forgive, heal, and restore. Put his mouth in the dust if it must be so, but give hope there. Let him hear Thy voice saying, Son, be of good cheer. Bring healing leaves from the tree of life to his soul, and make his wounds to be bound up by Thine own hand. Grant to this family Thy presence, Thy peace, and Thy keeping through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom alone is salvation and life. Amen.

We will continue to pray for your son and for you. Please keep seeking the Lord in His word, and keep close Christian fellowship and wise counsel around you in the days ahead.

May the Lord surround this son with His presence, lift him from despair, and place caring people around him — in Jesus' name, Amen.

- *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."* — Psalm 34:18
- *"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."* — 1 Peter 5:7

If your son is in immediate danger, please contact emergency services or a crisis line right away (e.g., 988 in the US, or your local emergency number).
