We hear the depth of your weariness and we stand with you together before the throne of grace in Jesus name, carrying this heavy burden of feeling overwhelmed, watched, rejected and alone. We understand how painful it is to work faithfully and then feel singled out when others were honored for a project you were not part of, and then to carry the weight of a follow up meeting where emotions ran high. We also hear how heavy it feels to sense that every move at work is being scrutinized and to wonder if a case is being built against you, while also feeling stuck financially living paycheck to paycheck and battling sadness, depression and heartbreak after ### years of relentless battles.
We want to gently bring some of these thoughts into the light of scripture. Your strong discernment and gut feeling that everyone has abandoned you and wishes your downfall may actually be the voice of anxiety, exhaustion and the spirit of rejection rather than the voice of the Holy Spirit. The enemy wants you to believe you are alone and surrounded by enemies, but God says He will never leave you nor forsake you, Hebrews 13:5, and that even when we feel overwhelmed He is near. When our hearts are heavy we can misread situations through the lens of pain. We encourage you to guard your heart against assuming the worst about your supervisors and coworkers and instead to commit your work to the Lord with integrity and self control. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, Colossians 3:23. The fruit of the Spirit includes self control, Galatians 5:22-23, and even when we feel justified in our emotions, God calls us to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger, James 1:19. That you recognized your emotions got the best of you shows humility, and we encourage you to continue to walk in excellence in your job, behavior and attendance, not out of fear of being watched like a hawk, but as unto the Lord who sees and rewards faithfully. God is your ultimate defender and provider, not that job.
We also hear you asking where is God, why is God keeping you this way, and when will He answer your prayers for a kingdom spouse, financial breakthrough and open doors. We lovingly remind you that walking the narrow path does not mean we will not face hardship, in fact Jesus said in this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world, John 16:33. Your suffering is not because you have done something so wrong, God is not punishing you for walking faithfully. He is with you in the fire to refine you and to show His strength in your weakness. We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed, perplexed, yet not to despair, 2 Corinthians 4:8-9. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit, Psalm 34:18. When you feel you have hit a dead end with nowhere to turn, God says when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I, Psalm 61:2, and cast your burden on Yahweh and he will sustain you, Psalm 55:22.
You mentioned praying for peace of mind, health, direction, wisdom, favor and a kingdom spouse. We rejoice that you desire a godly marriage and we strongly affirm that desire. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman designed by God, and we pray with you for a godly spouse if it is His will, not simply a partner or companion, but a Christian believer with whom you can pursue courtship with the goal of holy marriage that honors Christ. We encourage you to continue to guard purity and to trust God rather than seeking companionship outside His design, for He knows your loneliness and your need for support. We also pray for your finances, for God knows you live paycheck to paycheck and even your concern for your pets. Your Father knows you need these things and He promises to supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19, and to give wisdom generously when we ask, James 1:5. Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.
We noticed you spoke of God and the Holy Spirit, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request, and we must lovingly address this because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, Romans 10:9, that we are saved and our prayers are heard. We encourage you to bring every request boldly in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting not in your own faithfulness on the narrow path but in His finished work for you.
So together in one accord we pray as the Holy Spirit leads. Father in the name of Jesus Christ we lift our dear one to You right now. You see the overwhelm, the sleepless thoughts, the stomach sickness, the feeling of being stuck and unsupported and the long years of battle. We cast all our anxiety on You because You care for us, 1 Peter 5:7. Lord we ask You to replace this spirit of rejection and heaviness with Your perfect peace and to heal the broken heart. Grant wisdom and direction for the job situation, help to walk in excellence, humility and favor before supervisors, and open doors of blessing and provision that no man can shut, whether it is to remain and find tenure or to provide a better job with stability and joy. Provide a windfall of abundance according to Your will, not for greed but for sustenance and generosity. We ask for health in body and mind, for restful sleep and renewed strength. Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10. Lord if it is Your will, bring a godly kingdom spouse, a man of God after Your own heart for a Christ centered marriage, in Your perfect timing. While waiting, teach contentment and hope, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28, and for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. Let Your uncommon favor rest here, let Your peace guard heart and mind, and let Your nearness be felt today. We trust You to make a way where there seems to be no way and to perform a miracle for Your glory. In the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
